Moongate is the rare Bangalore venue built exclusively for events — 10 acres at Chikkajala on International Airport Road, flanked by a lake on one side and a green hill on the other, with 47 luxury suites and five distinct event spaces. You haven't booked a hotel that hosts weddings on the side; you've booked an estate engineered for them. That changes the decor brief completely.

At a purpose-built venue, the infrastructure is generous — large stages, real rigging points, serious power. The mistake couples make is hiring a decorator who treats it like any lawn-and-hall property and never uses what Moongate actually offers: the lake horizon, the east-facing sunrise stage, the fig tree courtyard. Panigrahana designs venue-first. Here is exactly how we approach each space — and what it honestly costs.

Designing for Moongate's Five Spaces

Pavilion Lawn — up to 2,000 guests, lake backdrop

The estate's showpiece. The lake is the backdrop nature already built, so the first rule is sightline discipline: the mandap or stage sits with the water behind it, structures stay open-framed and under 12 feet, and nothing tall is placed between guests and the horizon. The second rule is wind. Air moves off the lake in the late afternoon — every drape is tensioned, every floral is wired, every candle is enclosed. Lighting here is about the water: warm uplights along the shoreline edge and a string-light canopy that reflects off the lake after dark double your decor for free.

Opa Banquet Hall — 10,000 sq ft, 800 seated

The Opa Hall is the opposite brief: a vast air-conditioned volume with a 2,000 sq ft built-in stage that demands scale. Small centrepieces and a thin backdrop get swallowed here. We work in three layers — ceiling treatment (draping or suspended floral/lighting installations), a programmable lighting design that shifts from ceremony warmth to reception energy, and a stage design substantial enough for the hall's proportions. This is where the larger share of an indoor budget should sit.

Sonne — the east-facing open-air stage

Sonne's elevated, east-facing orientation makes it the best morning-muhurtham space on the property — the ceremony is lit by sunrise. Decor stays low and warm: traditional florals, brass, soft fabric in palettes that flatter golden morning light (ivory, marigold, rust). Heavy backdrops would block exactly the light you chose this stage for.

Lacu Lakefront Stage & Fig Tree Courtyard

Lacu, the romantic 200-guest lakefront stage, is built for sundowner events — minimal structure, floating florals and candle light at the waterline, lounge seating angled at the lake. The Fig Tree Courtyard is the intimate space for mehendi and haldi: marigold strings, urlis, low seating under the tree. Both spaces reward restraint over spend.

Decorator Policy at Moongate

Moongate allows outside decorators and is genuinely vendor-friendly — it was built for events. Setup windows, lakefront wind-loading rules and Opa Hall rigging protocols still apply. Details: Moongate outside decorator policy · complete venue guide.

Why a Studio That Knows Moongate Matters

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does wedding decor cost at Moongate?
Typically ₹3.5-6 lakhs for a single event and ₹6-10 lakhs for ceremony plus reception across the Pavilion Lawn and Opa Hall. Multi-day celebrations using three or more spaces run ₹10-16 lakhs. The exact figure depends on scope — the 2,000-guest lawn needs more coverage than the intimate lakefront stage.
Has Panigrahana decorated weddings at Moongate before?
Yes — we've designed across the Pavilion Lawn, Opa Hall, Sonne and Lacu, and we know the estate's vendor routes, power infrastructure, lakefront wind behaviour and setup windows in working detail.
Does Moongate allow outside decorators?
Yes. As a purpose-built events estate it's vendor-friendly, but setup windows are scheduled, lakefront installations must be weighted against wind, and Opa Hall rigging points must be used correctly. A decorator who knows the property doesn't lose setup hours to discovery.
How early should we book our decorator?
Ideally 6-10 months before your date. Peak Moongate weekends (November-February) book heavily, and venue-experienced decorators fill in parallel. Closer than that? Contact us anyway — we hold buffer capacity for select venues.
What's included in your Moongate package?
Walkthrough of your booked spaces, custom mood board, itemised proposal, mandap and stage design, florals, lakefront-calibrated lighting, styling, installation and teardown within venue windows, and on-site management. Full planning — vendors, guest logistics across the 47 suites, timelines — can be combined.
