Amanpuri: Where the Aman Legend Began
In 1988, Amanpuri opened on Phuket's Pansea Beach and changed luxury hospitality forever. The resort — its name meaning "place of peace" in Sanskrit — introduced the world to a new concept: total privacy, minimal footprint, and profound natural beauty as the foundations of true luxury. Over three decades later, it remains one of the world's finest properties and one of Thailand's most extraordinary wedding destinations.
Wedding Spaces at Amanpuri
The Coconut Grove
Amanpuri's private beach — a crescent of golden sand on Pansea Bay, fringed by ancient coconut palms — is one of Thailand's most beautiful ceremony settings. Sunset ceremonies here, with the Andaman Sea turning extraordinary shades, are genuinely extraordinary. Capacity: 50–120 guests.
The Terrace
The resort's signature terrace, elevated above the beach — open-sided Thai pavilion architecture, panoramic Andaman Sea views, the perfect setting for cocktail receptions and intimate dinners (30–80 guests).
The Sala
Traditional Thai salas (open pavilions) positioned around the resort create intimate settings for smaller ceremonies and event segments. The most beautiful of these overlook the beach and coconut grove.
Planning an Indian Wedding at Amanpuri
- Exclusivity: Amanpuri's 40 pavilions and 30 villas can be booked as a full buyout for complete resort exclusivity — our preferred approach for Indian wedding groups.
- Indian catering: We coordinate Indian catering specialists for all Aman properties in Thailand. The team has extensive experience preparing authentic Indian menus in high-end restaurant kitchens.
- Best season: November to April (Andaman Sea dry season). Amanpuri's beach is at its most beautiful December–March.
- Guest count: Intimate weddings of 30–100 guests best suit Amanpuri's scale and philosophy. For larger Indian weddings (200+ guests), Amanpuri can produce events in conjunction with additional nearby accommodation.
