There is no landscape in India quite like Kerala for a wedding. The southern backwaters at Kumarakom — still water the colour of green silk, coconut palms leaning into the sky, a houseboat drifting silently past your mandap. The clifftop hotels at Kovalam and Varkala, where the Arabian Sea lies 60 metres below and the ceremony happens at the edge of the world. The ancient Bekal Fort in the north, rising from the sea on a headland while the Taj property stretches behind it in perfect quiet luxury.
Kerala offers something that no other Indian state does: the combination of extraordinary natural landscape and a deeply rich Hindu cultural tradition. The state's year-round humidity means the monsoon (June–September) brings heavy rain, but also some of the most lush, dramatically green landscapes imaginable. Couples who embrace the monsoon — with appropriate tenting and venue selection — find that the rains create an atmosphere of extraordinary romantic intensity. The dry season (October–May) is conventionally preferred.

October through May offers the most reliable weather for outdoor ceremonies in Kerala. December through February is peak season — the most popular months with the best light and temperatures. November and March are excellent shoulder months with slightly better venue availability and pricing.
