Yelahanka's Heritage Wedding Venue
Sunil Gowda and Vandana Murthy are both from Yelahanka — one of North Bangalore's most established neighbourhoods. Holding their wedding at Ritam was both practical and emotional: most guests were within 10 minutes, and the venue's heritage-inspired design felt rooted in the community's culture. "Yelahanka has its own culture," says Vandana. "We wanted a venue that reflected that."
The Celebration
Haldi: The outdoor garden in turmeric yellow — terracotta pots of marigolds at every corner, fresh turmeric paste in brass vessels, a banana leaf floor runner between family and the couple's seats.
Wedding: Main hall in traditional Kannada wedding colours — deep red, white, and gold. The mandap a towering structure of banana leaf pillars, jasmine garlands, and hundreds of marigold blooms. The purohit's voice filled the hall; conch shells marked each ritual transition. 500 guests in respectful silence.
Reception: Gold and ivory transformation. Crystal centrepieces, traditional music through dinner.
"Everything that could be done right was done right," says Sunil. "We have no regrets whatsoever."
