When Prashanth Naik and Lakshmi Desai began planning their wedding, they wanted something genuinely different — not another banquet hall, but a venue with authentic outdoor character in South Bangalore. Sumatra in JP Nagar 9th Phase answered with three Indonesian-inspired garden spaces unlike anything else in the city.

Three signature spaces: Asri (900 guests under open sky), Palem (palm-lined, 300 guests), and Rumput (secret garden, 100 guests). Its JP Nagar location provides easy access from Jayanagar, Banashankari, and BTM Layout, with parking for 200 vehicles.
Managing 800 Guests Across Four Functions
Panigrahana coordinated simultaneous mehndi and ring ceremony in two halls, sangeet for 800 with a 20-metre production stage, outdoor baraat and wedding ceremony, and a grand 800-person reception with 80 uniformly dressed tables.
Design at scale: 15-foot floral columns at hall entrances, a 12-metre floral backdrop behind the mandap, ceiling installations spanning the full hall, and matching centrepieces on every table. At this scale, bold gestures create the impact that intimate details cannot.
"I was fully expecting chaos," admits Prashanth. "Instead, everything ran on time. The catering was hot, the stage was incredible. Even my most critical uncle had nothing negative to say."
