A Traditional Tamil Wedding With a Contemporary Vision
Suresh Balaji and Meenakshi Rajan wanted their wedding to be traditional in its rituals but contemporary in its aesthetics — and they wanted to stay in South Bangalore, where both families are rooted. Utsavaa near Electronic City delivered on both counts, and Panigrahana transformed the sprawling 14-acre venue into something genuinely magnificent.
About Utsavaa
Utsavaa is celebrated for its ornate, festive interiors, two expansive lush lawns, and flexible spaces across 3 halls accommodating 100–3,000 guests. Its location on Hulimangala Road, Vabasandra, near Electronic City Phase 1, is convenient for families across South Bangalore, and the in-house catering — particularly traditional South Indian cuisine — is consistently excellent.
The Celebration
Mehndi & Sangeet: Panigrahana created a jasmine garden — floor-to-ceiling jasmine curtains, copper lamps, and hand-painted kolam. By night, string lights turned the space magical.
Wedding: The main hall dressed in crimson, gold, and white. Traditional four-pillar mandap with banana leaf columns, marigold strings, and mogra garlands — pure South Indian ceremonial beauty.
Reception: The same hall transformed into blush pink and gold, with crystal centrepieces and a dramatic floral arch over the photo wall. "Our grandparents felt at home. Our friends thought it was the most photogenic venue they'd been to," said the couple.
