Can You Get Married at ISKCON Bangalore?

ISKCON is the temple families in Bangalore ask us about first, and for a reason that has little to do with religion and a lot to do with logistics. It is the one temple on the list that works like a venue. There is a hall, there are rooms, there is parking, and there is a kitchen. Everywhere else on the temple circuit, those four things have to be assembled elsewhere.

What is actually on Hare Krishna Hill

The Kalyana Mantapa sits beside the temple on Hare Krishna Hill, Chord Road, Rajajinagar. Two halls, both air-conditioned. Per the temple's own published information, Dwarakapuri Hall seats 450 for the ceremony with 1,500 floating and 325 for dining. Mathura Hall is the smaller room: 150 seated, 400 floating, dining for 100.

Those dining numbers are the ones to plan against rather than the seated ceremony figures. A 400-guest ceremony in Dwarakapuri will eat in more than one sitting, and the sittings have to be written into the timeline before the muhurtham hour is settled, not discovered on the morning.

The booking includes 7 complimentary guest rooms, with 70 more available on the hill, and parking for 360 cars. In a city where the parking question decides how many elderly relatives actually attend, 360 spaces is a genuinely significant number.

The meal

Food is vegetarian only and cooked by the temple's own kitchen in the sattvik style. There is no outside caterer.

Families sometimes bring this to us as a constraint and we usually hand it back as the opposite. For a Madhwa, Iyengar or traditionally vegetarian family, a temple kitchen serving prasadam is the meal they wanted anyway, and it removes the single most anxious line item from the planning. The practical consequence is that the menu conversation happens with the temple rather than with a caterer, and it happens earlier than families expect.

On the cost side, ISKCON's kalyana mantapa on Chord Road is listed on WedMeGood at ₹310 a veg plate, which is a third-party listing and indicative. The temple office has the final word, and rental rates for the halls themselves are not published online at all.

The optional additions

Flowers, photography, nadaswaram, a swing and a homa kunda are available as additions at extra charge. Worth knowing before you brief an outside florist or hire a swing you did not need. Confirm what is included in the current arrangement with the office on 080 2357 4123, between 8am and 8pm, since these lists are revised from time to time.

Notice and season

We plan on three to six months for season dates. The November to February run is when the halls fill, and a cross-agreed weekend muhurtham goes considerably earlier than a weekday inside the same window.

One sequencing note that saves families a scramble. If both the temple and a reception venue have to line up on the same date, book the temple first. Who can marry there

ISKCON follows the Hindu Marriage Act 1955, which does not distinguish by caste, and inter-caste Hindu couples marry there as a matter of course. The temple office asks for ID, the muhurtham, and sometimes gotra and nakshatra for the sankalpa.

On the legal side, the wedding is valid under the Hindu Marriage Act from the moment the customary rites are completed, which in most South Indian traditions is the saptapadi. What that does not give you is a certificate. Registration with the Sub-Registrar afterwards produces the document a bank, passport office or consulate will accept, and the temple receipt is the proof of ceremony that filing needs. What we design around temple rules

Panigrahana has designed temple-plus-reception weddings in Bangalore since 2016, and the shape rarely changes: a morning muhurtham at the temple, a gap of two to three hours, an evening reception elsewhere.

The temple sets its own rules on decor, food and hours, and we work inside them rather than around them. That is not a compromise position, it is the whole design brief. What it means in practice:

• Flowers are bought fresh that morning and carried in loose. Nothing is fixed to anything that belongs to the temple.
• One photography team covers both venues on one timeline, with the couple's change and the travel written into it rather than assumed.
• Coach shuttles run between the two venues, so guests are not parking twice in a city where parking is the reason people leave early.
• The dining sittings are planned before the muhurtham hour is fixed, because at 400 guests in a 325-seat dining hall the meal is a schedule, not a service.

Central and west Bangalore hotels sit comfortably within 20 to 40 minutes of Chord Road, which makes the two-venue day genuinely workable rather than a logistical apology. How our fee works

Flat, agreed before anything is booked, ₹5–25 lakh+ depending on scope. Every vendor, the temple office included, is paid by the family directly at their own rate, and we take no commission from any of them. On a temple wedding that matters more than usual, because the venue that costs the least is often the venue a commission-taking planner has the least reason to recommend.
