The ceremony sat on the water: a low platform reached across the pond, backed by a full wall of layered greenery with strands of white blooms and crystal chandeliers. At its centre stood the couple's vows, printed in Hindi on a tall parchment scroll. A second scroll stood on the lawn among brass urns, so guests read the promises on their way in, and the stone amphitheatre steps around the pond carried candles in glass with white gladioli, chrysanthemums and ferns.
Abhishek arrived under a red and gold embroidered baraat umbrella. The jaimala moved indoors, into a room washed in sage green, with sheer drapes, crystal chandeliers and white floral banks, the garlands in white jasmine.
The haldi owned the garden in one colour: lemon-yellow paper lanterns and cane pendants hung over a cane sofa with yellow and green cushions, gold Chiavari chairs wore jasmine and marigold garlands, and a welcome board stood framed in marigold beside brass urns.
The mehendi went red and white: a Mehendi Laga Ke Rakhna sign rising from maroon and orange flowers, a vintage desk spilling baby's breath, a carved screen behind a white bench, and floor seating of red poufs on patterned rugs under the trees. A gajra bar offered baskets of jasmine for guests' hair.
After dark, the sangeet moved under swags of jute strung with filament bulbs and fern garlands, around a black and white checkered dance floor facing a white floral stage lit by candles.
If you are planning at Nature Knots, design for the setting rather than against it: the pond, the banyan and the amphitheatre steps already make a stage, so the decor can stay low and let the water reflect the light. Ask the venue early which areas can take a platform, what time setup can begin and where sound must stop at night, and put the answers in writing.

The garden's tall trees give shade, so the haldi here hung lemon-yellow paper lanterns and cane pendants from a yellow-wrapped frame over a cane sofa, with gold chairs garlanded in jasmine and marigold on the lawn. One colour, repeated at many heights, reads well in daylight and in photographs.
How was the sangeet lit at Nature Knots?
Swags of jute fabric strung with filament bulbs and fern garlands covered the lawn, over a black and white checkered dance floor facing a white floral stage with candles. The warm, low light kept the trees visible around the party.
