About Nature Knots
Nature Knots is 8 acres at Hesaraghatta Grass Farm, next door to Nrithyagram, about an hour out of the city. It was a family's home and garden for two decades before it became a venue. The founder, Mr Vasu, planted it himself over that time, and the event business grew out of MV Event Makers, the production company he has run for 30 years. That history shows in the planting rather than in the brochure. The trees are mature, the lawns are level, and the property does not look like something built to a capacity brief.
Five spaces carry the wedding, each named for a raaga. Kedar is the covered banquet hall at 600 seated, and it is the reason this property is easier to plan than most Bangalore garden venues: the rain answer is a building rather than a tent you pay for twice. Kalyani is an open-sky amphitheatre with tiered seating for 300. Maduvanti is the big open-air space the venue publishes at 2,500-plus. Vasanta is a lawn under a tree canopy with its own greenroom, and Abheri is the small garden kept for haldi and mehendi at 70 to 100. Forty-six rooms across four blocks mean the extended family sleeps on site, which is the part that turns a wedding into a weekend.
The operating model is unusual and worth understanding before you fall in love with the place. Catering is outside only, and the venue hands over a 3,500 sq ft commercial kitchen set up pure vegetarian, with non-vegetarian cooked in a separate outdoor setup. Decor is where the property is least clear: its listing says in-house, its own site offers venue-only rental as one of two routes, and we have designed, built and run a full multi-function wedding here. The listing also records that alcohol is not permitted from any source. Those three lines decide more about your wedding than the capacity chart does, and all three belong in the written proposal.

Designed, not just planned
How we would design a wedding at Nature Knots
Kedar is a real covered hall with height, which makes this one of the few Bangalore garden properties where a suspended installation is affordable. We rig into the roof structure rather than building a free-standing frame, and a ceiling of hanging florals over the reception costs a fraction of what the same idea costs on a lawn. Get the permitted fixing points and the load per point from the venue before the drawing is finished. The other thing to design around is the planting, which is the venue's real asset, twenty years of hand-picked trees, so the palette has to let it read. Cream, white, jasmine, marigold, brass and raw fibre hold up against dense green, while pastel and blush wash out under a tree canopy at 5pm. At Kalyani the amphitheatre is the seating plan: chairs go on the levels, the aisle runs down the centre of the steps, and the mandap sits on the central platform so the back row looks down rather than around. Avoid a tall mandap there, because the tiers already give you elevation and height only fights the tree line. Lighting is the biggest single line at this property. It is dark by 6.30 and there is a lot of ground, so budget for path lighting and tree uplights as infrastructure before any decorative fixture is drawn, and confirm the available load and whether a silent generator is required. Our own build here used a pond mandap under a fairy-lit banyan, a chequered dance floor on the lawn for the sangeet, and a jute canopy over the lounge, all of it built to sit inside the planting rather than over it.

Season and weather
October to March is the window, and Kedar is what makes the shoulder months workable here when most garden venues are not. June to September is genuinely wet in the Hesaraghatta belt, and the honest plan is to put the main function indoors rather than to tent a lawn. December weekends and strong muhurtham dates go first. April and May are usable if the ceremony sits after 5pm, which the tree cover helps with.
Arrivals, access and logistics
The drive is the thing to design around: 55 km and about an hour from MG Road, more in Friday evening traffic, on roads that get narrow past Hesaraghatta. Send guests a route and a leaving time rather than an address. Forty-six rooms across four blocks sleep the core family and the wedding party, so the rooming list matters more here than at a city venue. Decide who is on site and block a hotel near Yeshwanthpur or Peenya for the rest. Parking is 2 acres for 500-plus cars, so arrival is not the constraint. Vendor access needs an agreed load-in start, truck access to each space and a dismantling window, and because everything except the kitchen shell arrives on a truck, the build schedule is the single biggest production risk.

Days 1–2 land and rest; day 3 walk Nature Knots and lock the spaces; days 4–6 menu tasting, decor sign-off and trials; days 7–8 shopping and jewellery; days 9–10 family arrivals and rehearsal; days 11–13 the functions; day 14 departure.
