Design here is a poolside problem, not a ballroom problem. The pool sits in a courtyard between building wings, which means three hard reflective surfaces and one open side — good for bounce, bad for sound. Keep the speaker stacks low and angled down or the courtyard will ring. The water is the only feature in the space, so the design should use it: floating candles or a low floral raft read from every room window above, and a bar set on the long side of the pool gives the crowd somewhere to gather that is not the walkway.
