The mehendi was red, orange and gold. Red velvet drapes swagged over the entrance between arched red panels with gold motifs, above layered rugs, urns of orange flowers, pampas grass and baskets of marigolds. Inside, red and gold jaali arches framed a majlis lounge of low cream sofas, and the stage centred on a carved gold swing hung with marigold strings between gold lanterns.
The haldi turned lilac, yellow and soft pink in daylight. A white arch crowned with pastel flowers opened onto stone steps lined with flower urns, and the stage was a round yellow canopy on yellow pillars, its roof strung with marigolds, with two yellow stools in gold basins. A lilac photobooth with a yellow door and a flower-wrapped cycle rickshaw carried the theme into the garden.
The sangeet moved indoors under rows of multicolour bunting threaded with fairy lights. LED screens with lotus line art and the couple's monogram stood between white jaali panels, painted puppet figures flanked a mandala-print dance floor, and the tables wore pink folk prints with toy-elephant centrepieces. A dandiya station of painted matkis waited for the dancing.
The ceremony faced the sea. The mandap was a square frame covered in foliage, hung with layered swags of cream flower strands tipped with red, with gold finials and cream chairs on a white platform. A white runner edged with white orchids and roses ran between cream chairs on the sand, and guests arrived under arches of white flower strings past a gold-framed mirror sign.
The reception moved to the lawn after dark, lit by paper lanterns and string lights in the palms. The entrance was a gateway of wooden shelves filled with pillar candles, tables wore rose-gold sequins with carved gold chairs, and the stage was a white frame with a fairy-light curtain and trailing greenery. The after-party ended the night on a multicolour LED dance floor.
If you are planning a wedding at Riva Beach Resort, give each event its own setting: the beach for the ceremony, the lawn under the palms after dark, an indoor hall for a sangeet that runs late. Ask the resort early about access hours for each space, sound limits on the beach and lawn, and power for lighting, and keep the answers in writing.
Can you have a beach wedding at Riva Beach Resort?
Yes. Apeksha and Akash's ceremony was set on the beach facing the sea, with a foliage mandap hung with cream flower-strand swags, a white aisle edged with white flowers and cream chairs on the sand. Check tide and sunset times with the resort when you fix the muhurat.
How many wedding events can Riva Beach Resort host?
This wedding held six events at the resort: a mehendi, a haldi in the garden, an indoor sangeet, the ceremony on the beach, a reception on the lawn and an after-party indoors. Each used a different space, so the guests saw a new setting every time.
What does wedding decor like this cost?
Every wedding is quoted from its brief: the number of events, the spaces dressed and the flowers chosen. Panigrahana decor projects start from ₹5 lakh plus GST, and planning starts from ₹2 lakh a day for two events plus GST.
