About Riva Beach Resort
Riva Beach Resort sits between the Arabian Sea and the Mandrem rivulet in quiet North Goa, which gives one property two waterfronts: a Beach Venue for 500 theatre-style and a 19,000 sq ft Waterfront Lawn by the rivulet, with two indoor halls, The Skyline and The Garden Oasis, for the evenings (Riva). With 140 rooms and suites (WedMeGood), most families house the whole guest list on site.
Panigrahana planned and designed Apeksha and Akash's wedding here in December 2025 over six events, each in its own setting: a beach ceremony, a lawn reception after dark and an after-party indoors. We design Riva the same way, so the guests see a new place every time.

Designed, not just planned
How we would design a wedding at Riva Beach Resort
Two waterfronts: the sea for the ceremony and the rivulet for the reception lawn. Keep beach structures light and anchored, light the lawn after dark, and give each function its own setting.
Which function goes where
| Haldi | The palm-lined Sunset Garden Lawn in the morning (80 in a cluster set-up). |
|---|---|
| Mehendi | The Garden Oasis, indoors with floor-to-ceiling windows (110 in a cluster set-up). |
| Sangeet | The Skyline indoors (250 in a cluster set-up, 400 theatre-style), so the dancing can run past 10 pm under the resort's rules. |
| Wedding ceremony | The Beach Venue at sunset (500 theatre-style), with The Skyline held as the rain plan. |
| Reception | The Waterfront Lawn after dark (250 in a cluster set-up), lit with lanterns and string lights. |
Season and weather
November to February, the months 20 of the 24 Goa weddings on Panigrahana's 2026 books fall in (booking records checked 24 October 2026); the beach and lawns are dry and the evenings cool. Late December books a year ahead. June to September moves every function indoors to The Skyline and The Garden Oasis.
Arrivals, access and logistics
WeddingWire puts Riva about 25 km from Manohar International Airport at Mopa (GOX), the closer of Goa's two airports (checked 25 October 2026). The resort has three pools and three dining outlets for the guest days (Riva). North Goa sound applications go to the Deputy Collector and SDO at least 15 days ahead and list timings up to 10 pm.
Riva Beach Resort policies
| Outside decorators | Outside decorators permitted (WedMeGood and WeddingWire listings, checked 25 October 2026). |
|---|---|
| Catering | In-house catering only, per the WedMeGood listing; Riva's own wedding team plans the menus. |
| Alcohol | Riva runs its own bar, and WedMeGood lists outside alcohol as permitted too (checked 25 October 2026); agree the bar package and any corkage in writing. |
| Music and DJ | In-house DJ available and outside DJs allowed (WeddingWire listing). Outdoor amplified sound stops at 10 pm (CPCB noise rules); The Skyline and The Garden Oasis are indoors for the late party, under the resort's own closing time, so get it in writing. |
| Music curfew | Goa's outdoor amplified-sound rule closes lawns and beach at 10 pm; indoor rooms run later under the hotel's rules. Confirm in writing. |
| Fireworks and effects | No fireworks policy is published. Fireworks, cold pyro and sky lanterns need the resort's written consent and the licensed operator's permissions for your date; we do not design them in until both are in hand. |
Policy source: source, checked 2026-10-25. Get the current policy in writing before you commission any fabrication.

Is Riva Beach Resort the right venue for your wedding?
| Right for you if | Families of 100 to 500 who want a beach ceremony and a rivulet-side reception on one property in quiet North Goa, with 140 rooms on site for the guest list. |
|---|---|
| Look elsewhere if | A wedding above 500, or one built around a grand ballroom: Resort Rio in Arpora carries that brief. |
| Planner tip | Book the Beach Venue and the Waterfront Lawn for different functions so each event gets its own setting, hold The Skyline as the rain and after-10 pm space, and get the coastal-zone (CRZ) permission for a sand ceremony in writing before you print invitations. |

Planning a wedding at Riva Beach Resort from abroad
At Riva Beach Resort, the vegetarian plate rate is ₹2,000 (WedMeGood listing, checked 25 October 2026), so food for one 150-guest function is ₹3 lakh before taxes: about US$3,130 or £2,360 at the 26 Sep 2026 rate; contracts are in INR. Riva Beach Resort is about 25 km from Manohar International Airport, Mopa (GOX).
Fly guests into Mopa (GOX), about 25 km away on WeddingWire (checked 25 October 2026). With 140 rooms and suites (WedMeGood), the whole list can usually stay on site; ask Riva for one room block across the categories. November to February suits overseas guests: the beach is dry and the evenings cool. A remote walkthrough should cover the Beach Venue at sunset, the Waterfront Lawn after dark, The Skyline as the rain plan and the rooms your parents will use.

| Rooms | 140 rooms ≈ 280 guests at two a room. A 150-guest block at two a room needs 75 rooms, which fits on site if the venue releases that many rooms for your dates. |

What families usually ask about Riva Beach Resort
Parents usually ask where the pheras go, what the food will be and how far elders will walk. The ceremony can sit at the Beach Venue at sunset or on the Waterfront Lawn by the rivulet, with The Skyline indoors as the rain plan. Riva caters in-house, so ask for the vegetarian and Jain menus in writing. Ask for family rooms close to the lawn, and confirm in writing whether a havan fire is allowed at the setting you choose.

How many guests can Riva Beach Resort host for a wedding?
Up to 500 theatre-style at the Beach Venue on Riva's own weddings page (checked 25 October 2026). The Waterfront Lawn and The Skyline each take 250 in a cluster set-up, The Garden Oasis 110 and the Sunset Garden Lawn 80.

Yes: Riva's Beach Venue takes 500 theatre-style on Mandrem beach (checked 25 October 2026), and we held Apeksha and Akash's ceremony there in December 2025. A ceremony on the sand needs Goa's coastal-zone (CRZ) permission for your date and finishes before the 10 pm sound rule.

Yes: WedMeGood and WeddingWire both list outside decorators as permitted (checked 25 October 2026). Agree the build hours, power and the beach set-up with Riva's wedding team in writing before the decor is fabricated.
Can we bring our own caterer or alcohol to Riva Beach Resort?

10 pm on the beach and lawns: the Noise Pollution Rules bar loudspeakers from 10 pm to 6 am outside closed premises (CPCB), and North Goa's sound permission runs up to 10 pm (checked 26 September 2026). The Skyline and The Garden Oasis are indoors, so the after-party moves there under the resort's own closing time.
What is the best month for a wedding at Riva Beach Resort?
November to February, the months 20 of the 24 Goa weddings on Panigrahana's 2026 books fall in (booking records checked 24 October 2026), when the beach and lawns are dry. Late December books a year ahead; from June to September the functions move indoors.

Who plans weddings at Riva Beach Resort?
Riva's own wedding team runs the resort side, and independent planners design the whole wedding: Panigrahana planned and designed Apeksha and Akash's six-event wedding here in December 2025 (our published design study). Riva contracts rooms, food and bar with you directly.
How much advance does Riva Beach Resort take to confirm a wedding?
25% of the booking to confirm, on the WeddingWire listing (checked 25 October 2026), which also shows a ₹2,00,000 non-refundable component and room retention charges for cancellations within 120 and 90 days. Ask Riva for the current schedule in your contract.
Riva Beach Resort or Mandrem Beach Resort: which suits a Mandrem wedding?
Riva Beach Resort has 140 rooms and a Beach Venue for 500 theatre-style (WedMeGood; Riva), while Mandrem Beach Resort, a member of Radisson Individuals Retreats, has 41 rooms and a lawn for 125 standing on WedMeGood (read 25 October 2026). Riva suits a larger wedding; the Radisson an intimate one.

Yes: about 300 of Panigrahana's 500+ weddings since 2018 were for couples living abroad (company facts, October 2026), planned on video calls with recorded walkthroughs, and Mopa airport is about 25 km from Riva.
