On one of southern India's most beautiful natural wedding sites, a half-kilometre of marigold and jasmine through the meadow became one of the most discussed pieces of wedding decor our studio has ever created.

King's Meadows on Kanakapura Road is the kind of venue that makes design decisions for you — 300 acres of open meadow with the Kanakapura Hills as the western horizon demands a certain scale, a certain restraint, a certain willingness to let the natural landscape dominate. The brief from Deepak and Nandita was exactly aligned with that instinct: 'make the land the decoration.'

Our solution was a single, continuous floral installation: a half-kilometre pathway of hand-laid marigold and jasmine, beginning at the venue entrance and terminating at the ceremony mandap. The pathway required 80,000 individual blooms, 14 hours of overnight laying by our team, and a structural engineering approach to ensure the flowers remained fresh through a 29-degree February afternoon.

Three hundred guests walked through that pathway to their seats. The photographs — taken from drone altitude in the golden morning light — show the line of marigold cutting a vivid orange-gold diagonal across the green meadow, with the hills visible in the distance. They have been shared more widely than almost any image from a Bangalore outdoor wedding in recent memory.

Nandita had grown up near Kanakapura Road and had passed King's Meadows hundreds of times. 'I always thought it was beautiful,' she told us after the wedding. 'I never imagined it could look like this.'
