Sixty guests, a garden ceremony on the Oberoi's immaculate lawns, a dinner that lasted until 2am — intimate luxury that their guests compared to private members' clubs in London and Singapore.

Girish and Namitha came to us with the clearest brief we receive: small, perfect, and private. Sixty people, all of whom they genuinely loved, in the finest possible setting, with the maximum possible attention to each guest's individual experience. The Oberoi MG Road was the only venue in Bangalore that could deliver the staff-to-guest ratio they were describing.

The garden ceremony used The Oberoi's tropical lawn — an acre of immaculate grass and mature tropical planting, enclosed by the hotel's garden walls and entirely private from the city beyond. The mandap was constructed with a simplicity that mirrored The Oberoi's own design philosophy: nothing extraneous, nothing performative, every element serving either function or beauty.

Dinner began at 8pm. It ended at 2am. In six hours, 60 people ate four courses, had every conversation they wanted to have, and were attended to with the kind of consistent, unhurried care that The Oberoi's training produces. Three guests independently described the service as comparable to private members' clubs they had attended in London and Singapore. The Oberoi accepted this as a standard, not a compliment.

On the way out, just after 2am, Namitha found the Oberoi's chief butler and thanked him personally. He bowed slightly and said: 'The pleasure was entirely ours, madam.' It was the most Oberoi thing anyone had said all evening — and it was exactly right.
