Phuket is better for larger weddings (60–300 guests) that need a deep resort ecosystem and established Indian vendor infrastructure. Koh Samui is better for intimate weddings (30–100 guests) where Six Senses-level romance and atmosphere are paramount. There is no universal winner — the right answer depends on your guest count, aesthetic priorities, and which values matter most to you in the experience.
Koh Samui requires a Bangkok connection for Indian guests (Suvarnabhumi to Samui on Bangkok Airways, 1 hour). Total journey from most Indian cities: 6–8 hours. Panigrahana coordinates all guest travel logistics including the Bangkok-Samui connection and airport transfers. The extra hour is, in the experience of couples who've done it, worth it for the Six Senses or Vana Belle experience at destination.
Six Senses Samui is the finest Koh Samui wedding venue — clifftop jungle villas with Gulf of Thailand panoramas. For larger Samui groups (80–150 guests), Vana Belle on Choeng Mon Beach and Conrad Koh Samui are excellent alternatives. Samui's best venues are generally smaller and more boutique than Phuket's — which is precisely their appeal.
Both are extraordinary but visually different. Phuket delivers clifftops over the Andaman Sea, infinity pools framed by blue sky, and private beach ceremonies. Koh Samui delivers jungle-draped villas, wild Gulf coastline, and the extraordinary elevated perspective of Six Senses. Krabi, for context, delivers limestone karsts and emerald water — the most dramatic setting of the three.
