1,200 feet of private Cavelossim shoreline, torchlit pathways through the palm grove, a floating floral installation above the dance floor, and South Indian and Rajasthani cuisines served simultaneously for 350 guests.

The Novotel Goa Dona Sylvia's defining feature is its beachfront access — 1,200 feet of private shoreline on Cavelossim Beach, a stretch that most Goa resorts cannot approach. Nishant and Yamini chose this specifically: they wanted a ceremony layout that used the full breadth of the beach, spreading guests laterally along the waterline rather than concentrating them in a single focal point.

The ceremony layout placed the mandap at the waterline, with guests seated in a 180-degree arc behind. The effect, when viewed from above, showed the curved line of chairs against the straight line of the shore — a design geometry that photographs extraordinarily well and creates a ceremony space that feels genuinely oceanic rather than just adjacent to the ocean.

The reception decor included our most technically ambitious element of the season: a floating floral installation above the dance floor, constructed from 800 individual buoyant floral spheres suspended on monofilament at varying heights. In the Goa sea breeze, the spheres moved constantly, creating a shifting floral ceiling that was different every time a guest looked up.

The buffet served South Indian cuisine on the left wing of the reception area and Rajasthani cuisine on the right — Yamini's family from Jaipur and Nishant's from Bangalore finding their respective flavours without compromise. It was the simplest possible design decision for a cross-cultural wedding, and the most effective. By midnight, guests had crossed the invisible line and were eating freely from both sides.
