South Goa's most architecturally beautiful resort, 45 acres of coconut palms, a ceremony under the banyan trees, a Grand Ballroom reception, and a private beach dinner for 80 on the third night.

The Park Hyatt Goa's Indo-Portuguese architecture — terracotta roof tiles, whitewashed colonnades, arched doorways framing garden vistas — is the most coherent visual language of any resort in South Goa. Rohit and Pavithra chose it because they wanted their wedding to feel like it had grown organically from the building's bones rather than been imposed upon it.

The ceremony on Day Two was held under the property's ancient banyan tree, a decision that required our team to design a mandap that wrapped around rather than competed with the tree's aerial root system. The effect — a ceremony inside a living cathedral of roots, framed by the terracotta and white facades of the resort — produced the defining image of the three-day celebration.

The Grand Ballroom reception on Day Three brought 160 guests into the hotel's most formal space, which we transformed with an installation of hand-tied terracotta and ivory floral garlands suspended from the ceiling in a grid pattern. The warm amber lighting of South Goa's December evenings filtered through the ballroom's arched windows throughout the dinner.

The intimate beach dinner on the final evening — 80 of the closest family and friends, tables on the sand, the South Goa coastline dark and quiet around them — was described by Pavithra as the most romantic dinner she had ever attended. 'We did not want to go inside,' she said. 'We sat there until the tide started coming in.'
