Sapthapadi has a raised rear tier of gallery seating, two rows of sofa seating at the front for elders, and a patterned marble aisle set into the floor running the length of the hall. That combination gives you a working seating hierarchy on day one, which is why families who have been to a wedding here tend to come back.

Work with the floor and the chandeliers instead of around them. The marble aisle already fixes the mandap axis, so we build to it. The gold cascade chandeliers are the dominant light — we dim them to about sixty per cent and add a cool-white top light over the mandap so the couple separate from the warm wash.
