About Chamara Vajra
Chamara Vajra is a three-venue wedding campus on Jayamahal Main Road, on the Palace Grounds side of central Bangalore. Mukta seats 600 and more in a glass building among old trees. Maanikya is a 30,000 sq ft air-conditioned hall for over 5,000. Marakata pairs a 24,000 sq ft building with a lawn of more than 100,000 sq ft. It publishes no rates.
Most families use it one of two ways. A very large muhurtham goes into Maanikya or Marakata, with the other venue taking the reception on a different day. A wedding of 500 to 900 fits Mukta, where the trees and ponds do a lot of the decorating before anyone arrives.
We know the campus from the inside. For Minole and Mir we hung a lotus canopy from the ceiling instead of building a four-pillar mandap, and built their reception stage as a Hampi stepped well for 750 guests. Panigrahana Weddings plans and designs the wedding; Chamara Vajra takes the booking.

Designed, not just planned
How we would design a wedding at Chamara Vajra
We have produced a wedding here, so this comes from the build rather than a site visit. In the hall we used, the lotus canopy for Minole and Mir hangs from the ceiling with nothing standing on the floor, which freed the whole ceremony platform and gave every guest a clear sightline. At that scale the ceiling and the stage are the only two surfaces a guest at the back will read, so we put the design budget there. Their reception stage was a pushkarani, a stepped tank from Hampi, that steps down toward the couple instead of rising behind them. Maanikya's chandeliers and Hampi-inspired detailing are strong on their own; decor there should pick up that palette rather than fight it. Marakata is the opposite brief: a big open lawn needs a structure and a lighting plan, or it reads empty at night.

Season and weather
Maanikya is air-conditioned and works in any month. Marakata's lawn and Mukta's grounds are best from November to February; Bangalore's heaviest rain usually falls in September and October, so an outdoor function in those months needs the indoor hall written in as the rain plan. Muhurtham dates across Palace Grounds book a year ahead.
Arrivals, access and logistics
Jayamahal Main Road is central, reachable from Hebbal, Sadashivanagar, Frazer Town and MG Road without crossing the city. Parking is listed per venue (250 at Mukta, 700 at Maanikya, 600 at Marakata). Palace Grounds hosts concerts and exhibitions, so check what else is on the same road on your date and brief guests with the venue name and the hall name.
