The north of Kerala centres on Bekal — and specifically the extraordinary Taj Bekal Resort & Spa, which sits between the ancient Bekal Fort and the backwaters of the Kappil Lake. This is Kerala at its most dramatic: history, water, sea, and jungle all within a few hundred metres.

Kerala destination weddings introduce operational challenges that planners without on-ground experience routinely underestimate. Guest transportation is the most consistent one. The key Kerala venues — Taj Bekal, Niraamaya, Kumarakom Lake Resort — are not easily accessible from the nearest airport, and some require water transport for the final leg. Coordinating the arrival of 120 guests from Calicut or Trivandrum Airport, managing the houseboat transfers, and ensuring the elderly relatives in the family reach the ceremony location without a logistics crisis requires very specific local knowledge.
The second challenge is ceremony timing. Kerala's natural light window — when the backwaters and the coastal setting produce the photography that couples are imagining when they book these venues — is typically a two-to-three hour period between 4pm and 7pm. A ceremony that starts late loses that window permanently. October through May offers the most reliable weather for outdoor ceremonies in Kerala. December through February is peak season — the most popular months with the best light and temperatures. November and March are excellent shoulder months with slightly better venue availability and pricing.

You pay in three milestones to Wedvitez Planners (our invoicing entity): 30% to confirm the date, 50% two months before, and the final 20% on the wedding week when you arrive. Quotes are given in INR with a live USD / GBP / AED equivalent, and we contract in INR so you carry no exchange-rate risk on the agreed amount — and you make milestone payments to us while we disburse to every vendor, so there is no juggling a dozen separate wire transfers.
If you register in India under the Special Marriage Act, the 30-day notice period cannot be shortened for NRIs and you will need proof of Indian residence, so plan the registration window ahead; many couples instead marry legally in their home country and hold the ceremony in India.
