About Taj Cidade de Goa Horizon
Taj Cidade de Goa Horizon is the convention-scale Taj near Panaji: a 299-room tower on Vainguinim cove whose Assembleia seats 900 and takes 1,200 standing on WedMeGood, dividing into three rooms of 300 seated, with the Cidade de Goa lawns next door. For a thousand-guest Goa wedding that wants the capital ten minutes away, it is one of two hotels with the hall for it; Grand Hyatt at Bambolim is the other.
Panigrahana designs the Assembleia as a great hall — wide stage, lit ceiling — and uses the cove and the Cidade lawns for the outdoor functions, running the two wings as one site.
- Assembleia — 900 seated / 1,200 floating (WedMeGood); 998.7 sq m, dividing into three rooms (Taj events factsheet)
- Two rooftop decks with sea views: Deck D 550 and Deck C 350 standing (Taj events factsheet)
- 299 rooms here, 282 rooms and 17 suites (Taj); 500 across the campus with the Heritage wing (Cvent)
- A listed rental of ₹15 lakh per function (WedMeGood listing)
- On the Vainguinim plateau at Dona Paula, joined to Taj Cidade de Goa Heritage's lawns

Taj Cidade de Goa Horizon wedding questions
How much does a wedding at Taj Cidade de Goa Horizon cost?
WedMeGood lists a rental of ₹15 lakh per function (checked 27 September 2026), with catering on top: its menu cards run ₹4,000–5,000 per plate, though the headline shows ₹2,500 veg. A three-function wedding starts at ₹45 lakh in rentals before food and rooms. The listing also shows ₹43 lakh a day for 150 rooms.
What is the per plate price at Taj Cidade de Goa Horizon?
WedMeGood's headline plate is ₹2,500 veg / ₹3,000 non-veg, but its menu cards show ₹4,000 veg standard, ₹4,500 veg premium, ₹4,500 non-veg standard and ₹5,000 non-veg premium. The two disagree, so ask the hotel for the menu and plate figure for your date in writing.
What is the capacity of the Assembleia at Taj Cidade de Goa Horizon?
WedMeGood lists the Assembleia at 900 seated / 1,200 floating; Taj's events factsheet gives 998.7 sq m, 1,000 theatre and 1,200 floating, dividing into three rooms of 400 floating. With the two rooftop decks and the Cidade lawns next door (up to 1,000 on Cvent), the campus can run a large wedding indoors and out.
Does Taj Cidade de Goa Horizon have a rooftop venue?
Two. Taj's events factsheet lists Deck D at 996 sq m for 450 theatre or 550 standing, and Deck C at 762 sq m for 350 standing, both with sea views and a dining area. They suit a sangeet or a cocktail evening; outdoor amplified sound still stops at 10 pm.
How many rooms does Taj Cidade de Goa Horizon have?
299: 282 rooms and 17 suites, per Taj (checked 27 September 2026), the total WedMeGood also lists. The Heritage wing next door adds 201, and Cvent lists the campus at 500. WedMeGood shows ₹20,000 as its room-price figure.
What is the difference between Taj Cidade de Goa Horizon and Heritage?
One campus, two hotels. Horizon is the newer tower on the Vainguinim plateau: 299 rooms, the Assembleia for 900 seated and two rooftop decks. Heritage is the original Portuguese-village-style hotel on Vainguinim beach, with 201 rooms and the lawns (Taj; WedMeGood). Large weddings use Horizon's hall and Heritage's lawns together.
Can we bring our own decorator to Taj Cidade de Goa Horizon?
Yes. WedMeGood lists outside decorators as permitted, catering as in-house only, outside alcohol as permitted and outside DJs as allowed. It also lists in-house decor from ₹7.5 lakh if you prefer the hotel's team. Get corkage and load-in terms in writing.
Can Taj Cidade de Goa Horizon hold a 900-guest wedding indoors in the monsoon?
Yes. The Assembleia seats 900 and takes 1,200 standing on WedMeGood, and divides into three halls of about 300 seated, so a June to September wedding can stay fully indoors. WedMeGood lists the hall at ₹15 lakh a function (checked 27 September 2026). In the dry months the shared Cidade lawns take up to 1,000 on Cvent.
What is the music curfew at Taj Cidade de Goa Horizon?
Outdoors, amplified sound stops at 10 pm. The Noise Pollution Rules allow loudspeakers after 10 pm only inside closed premises such as banquet halls (CPCB), and North Goa's guidance lists timings up to 10 pm. The lawn function ends its music at 10 and the party moves into the Assembleia.
Is Taj Cidade de Goa Horizon on the beach?
The tower sits on Vainguinim cove at Dona Paula, beside the Heritage wing, and the campus lawns face the water. A setup on the sand needs its own permissions; North Goa's sound guidance asks for NOCs from GCZMA and the Tourism Department for sound on a beach.
How far is Taj Cidade de Goa Horizon from the airport?
Taj puts Dabolim (GOI) 26 km away, about 35 minutes by car, and Mopa (GOX) 41 km away, about an hour (checked 27 September 2026). Panaji is about ten minutes from the hotel, so the city's hotels can take any overflow.
Who plans weddings at Taj Cidade de Goa Horizon?
The hotel runs rooms and food; the design is yours to choose. Panigrahana Weddings is an independent planning and design studio, not the hotel: we design the Assembleia stage and the lawn ceremony, build the decor in-house and produce the programme with the Taj team. Send your date and guest count and we check it with the property.

Both hold about 1,200 at a reception indoors near Panaji. Horizon's Assembleia seats 900 (WedMeGood), with 299 rooms and a listed ₹15 lakh rental per function. Grand Hyatt's ballroom takes 860 at rounds (Hyatt chart), with 313 rooms and a ₹5,000 veg plate but no listed rental. Compare full written quotes, not headlines.
