The capital’s airport, the Kovalam cliffs twenty minutes south, and the one Kerala corridor where a lighthouse sits in the wedding photograph. Trivandrum is where Kerala’s clifftop weddings happen.
Panigrahana Weddings is an architect-founded wedding planner in Trivandrum, Kerala, rated 4.8/5 across 79 Google reviews and ranked #1 wedding planner in Kerala on WedMeGood (4.9★), planning weddings at The Leela Kovalam, Taj Green Cove, Niraamaya Retreats Surya Samudra, Hyatt Regency Trivandrum and Vivanta Trivandrum on a flat fee of ₹5–25 lakh+ with zero vendor markup.
A 200-guest two-day clifftop wedding at The Leela Kovalam costs ₹35–65 lakh all-in in 2026, a 400–500-guest wedding on the same corridor ₹70 lakh–1.2 crore, and a hall or tharavadu wedding in the city with local guests ₹10–20 lakh. Thiruvananthapuram is the Kerala city we plan for families flying in from the Gulf, the UK and the US, because the airport is close enough to Kovalam that grandparents land and reach the resort before the welcome drinks warm, and because the Leela’s beachfront room count keeps a large arriving list on one property. Panigrahana takes full-wedding mandates from ₹50 lakh.
Kovalam’s resorts price resort-style, a venue-space rental plus per-plate catering, unlike the pure minimum-guarantee model Kochi’s city five-stars run; the Leela’s public listings quote rental from about ₹60,000 to ₹1.5 lakh per day with our working catering band at ₹4,500–8,500 per plate. The city hotels work on minimum guarantees. Bands below are from our produced weddings and the rate cards we track.
| Trivandrum wedding tier (2026) | All-in total | Where it lands |
|---|---|---|
| Hall or tharavadu wedding, local guests, sadya on banana leaf | ₹10–20 lakh | City halls and auditoriums, family tharavadu |
| 100 guests, 2 days, mid-range property | ₹45–80 lakh | Vivanta Trivandrum, city hotels, Kovalam mid-range |
| 200 guests, 2 days, clifftop at The Leela Kovalam | ₹35–65 lakh | Venue and catering, core-family rooms, clifftop-engineered decor, photography, transport |
| 400–500 guests, 2 days, Kovalam corridor | ₹70 lakh–1.2 crore | Rooms and F&B do most of the climbing |
| 20–200 guests, private clifftop buyout at Niraamaya Surya Samudra | ₹8,000–15,000 per plate band | Ultra-private, 31 rooms |
Sadya on banana leaf runs ₹1,200–2,000 a head against ₹3,500–5,000 for a multi-cuisine buffet, and that one choice moves a Trivandrum budget more than the date does.
| Venue | Setting | Capacity | Rate band 2026 | Rooms |

| Taj Green Cove Resort & Spa | Clifftop and cove, Kovalam | 100–2,500 | ₹4,000–7,500 per plate | 80 |

Clifftop ceremonies are rare in India and rarer still with a working lighthouse in the photograph. Settings for about 100 to 900 guests, a beachfront room count that holds a flying-in list on-site, and December to February at peak rates. This is the venue for weddings that want to be seen from the sea.
Leela Kovalam wedding guide →Taj Green Cove takes the large list, up to 2,500 on its cove and lawns, at ₹4,000–7,500 per plate. Niraamaya Surya Samudra is the opposite brief: 31 rooms, 20–200 guests, a full buyout on a heritage clifftop at ₹8,000–15,000 per plate.
Beach weddings in Kovalam and Varkala →Hyatt Regency Trivandrum gives the capital an international five-star base with 132 rooms at Thycaud; Vivanta Trivandrum takes 100–1,200 at Mascot Square. The pattern we plan most: guests in the city, the ceremony on the coast, the airport a short run from both.
All Kerala venues →Wedding planner fees in Trivandrum in 2026 run from ₹75,000 for day-of coordination to ₹25 lakh+ for luxury design-and-build studios, or roughly 8–15% of total spend across the Kerala market. Panigrahana Weddings charges a flat planning fee of ₹5–25 lakh+ fixed by scope, never a percentage, and adds no markup on vendors because every mandap and stage is designed and built by its own 30-person team. Two firms quoting ₹6 lakh can be selling completely different amounts of work, so ask whether decor is billed at cost, who is physically on site on the day, and whether the fee covers the wedding week or the twelve months before it. The state-wide fee comparison is on our wedding planner in Kerala page; Kochi has its own at wedding planner in Kochi.
| Service tier | Trivandrum / Kerala fee band 2026 |
|---|---|
| Day-of / month-of coordination | ₹75,000–2 lakh |
| Partial planning | ₹2–4 lakh |
| Full-service, local Kerala wedding | ₹3–8 lakh |
| Full-service destination, multi-event | ₹8–15 lakh |
| Luxury full-service with integrated design | ₹15–25 lakh+ |
| Panigrahana Weddings | Flat ₹5–25 lakh+ by scope, zero vendor markup |
Thiruvananthapuram weddings run three different arcs and Panigrahana plans each with its own ritual team. The Hindu wedding is a compact thalikettu muhurtham on a temple-style mandapam with nilavilakku and a full sadya on banana leaf, often at dawn, with the reception on the cliffs the same evening. The Christian wedding is decided by the parish calendar first: Latin Catholic families book Valiamala Church, one of the most visually striking church settings in India, twelve to eighteen months ahead, and the reception follows at a Kovalam resort or city hotel. The Muslim nikah is a three-day arc with the feast at its centre and a reception sized for the community. Our guides: Kerala Nair and Brahmin weddings, Christian weddings in Kerala, Muslim weddings in Kerala.
Trivandrum International Airport sits minutes from the Kovalam corridor. For guest lists flying in from the Gulf, the UK or the US that matters more than any brochure page: the eldest relatives arrive rested and nobody spends the wedding day in a car.
Kerala’s wedding season runs October to March, December to February the peak on the cliffs. The June to September monsoon brings the softest rates of the year and grey-green light that photographers ask for; if your date falls in those months, get the sheltered plan written before the deposit.
Our architect-led studio designs Trivandrum weddings in the state’s own material language: nilavilakku brass, kasavu tones, jasmine and thetti, banana stem and coconut frond. On a clifftop that means engineering the mandap for wind and salt as well as for the photograph, which is the part a catalogue decorator does not price.
