A ceremony on the Segara lawn with ocean on three sides, cocktails at the Rock Bar perched on a natural formation above the water accessible only by cable car — a 6-hour journey through AYANA's most extraordinary spaces.

AYANA Jimbaran is one of the most experientially layered resorts in Bali — not just a beautiful property, but a sequence of experiences, each more extraordinary than the last. Nikhil and Meena's brief was to use all of it: the ceremony, the cocktails, the reception, each in a different location, each representing a different register of the property's total experience. Six hours, four spaces, 200 guests.

The Segara lawn ceremony — 200 guests, a mandap of Balinese tropical florals and Indian marigolds, the ocean present on three sides — was the formal and emotional centrepiece. Our design used both floral traditions simultaneously: Balinese sacred frangipani and palm at the structural perimeter, Indian marigold and jasmine at the intimate mandap centre. The ceremony ran 40 minutes and ended precisely at sunset.

The Rock Bar cocktail hour was the surprise. AYANA's Rock Bar sits on a natural rock formation above the ocean, accessible only by funicular cable car. When we told guests to board the cable car for cocktails, many assumed it was a logistical necessity rather than an experience. The reaction when they arrived — perched on the rock, the ocean below, cocktails in hand — was the most audible collective response of the evening.

The Kubu Ballroom reception brought the evening indoors at 9pm, with a complete interior transformation. Meena's first sight of the ballroom — after six hours of extraordinary outdoor spaces — was the moment she cried for the first time all day. 'I thought outdoors was the wedding,' she said. 'I did not know there was more.'
