Farmhouse Collective sits at Budigere Cross on Old Madras Road, and it is the most planted event venue in east Bangalore. The path from the gate runs under a tunnel of creeper and bamboo with petals on the ground, and the lawns beyond are edged with full-grown trees rather than saplings in pots. The venue's own pitch is that it needs minimal decor, and for once that is a description rather than a claim.

It runs as two venues. Farmhouse Collective takes 300 to 350 guests and has a lawn with a stage, two dining halls, a courtyard and two service kitchens. Backyard by Farmhouse Collective takes 80 to 90 and has its own lawn, covered dining and two cottages. A family can book the smaller one for a mehendi and the larger one for the wedding, or run two events at once.

Catering is outside only, so the food is entirely yours to arrange, and the two service kitchens at the main venue exist precisely for that. Decorators, DJs and alcohol are all open. Both venues are pet-friendly.

  • Two separate venues on one property: 300–350 guests and 80–90 guests
  • Dense mature planting — the venue's own line is that it needs minimal decor
  • Outside catering only, with two service kitchens at the main venue
  • Pet-friendly, at both venues
  • Parking for 90 cars at the main venue and 30 at the Backyard
  • 5.0 from 193 WedMeGood reviews, among the highest review counts in east Bangalore

Designed, not just planned

Wedding planning & decor at Farmhouse Collective: how we would design it

The planting is so dense here that the usual instinct — build a set, fill the frame — actively makes the venue look worse. The correct approach is to edit rather than add. Pick three or four moments that already exist (the creeper tunnel at the entrance, the tree line behind the stage, the courtyard) and dress only those, then leave everything between them alone. Clear-roof tents work particularly well on the main lawn because they keep the tree canopy in frame while solving rain; solid-top tents cancel the whole reason to be here. Light warm and low: the tree cover means uplights at trunk bases and festoon at four metres do everything, and a truss-mounted plot would look like a stage set dropped into a garden. The two service kitchens are a real planning asset for an outside caterer — confirm which one gets the hot line and which the plating, because a 300-guest meal with one kitchen doing both runs late.

Which function goes where

HaldiBackyard lawn in the morning. Small, enclosed, and the planting gives shade without anything being brought in.
MehendiBackyard, or the courtyard at the main venue. The tree cover means the artists work in even shade rather than under a tent.
SangeetMain lawn with an outside DJ. Sound carries into a farmhouse neighbourhood, so agree the cut-off in advance.
Wedding ceremonyMain lawn with the stage. At 300 seated, this is an intimate wedding venue by Bangalore standards, and that is what it does well.
ReceptionMain lawn with the dining halls for the food. The two dining halls mean a rain plan exists for the meal even if the ceremony is outside.

Season and weather

October to February is best, though the tree cover makes March and April more bearable here than at an open lawn. The monsoon needs a clear-roof tent; the dining halls handle the meal but not the ceremony.

Arrivals, access and logistics

Budigere Cross sits on Old Madras Road past Hoskote-side Whitefield, which makes it easy from east Bangalore and Whitefield and a long drive from the south and west. Parking is 90 cars at the main venue and 30 at the Backyard, which matches the guest counts rather than exceeding them, so a 350-guest wedding should plan a shuttle or an overflow field.

An honest read

Is Farmhouse Collective the right venue for your wedding?

Right for you ifEast Bangalore, Whitefield and Old Madras Road couples planning an intimate 150–350 guest wedding, with their own caterer, who want a garden that photographs itself.
Look elsewhere ifAnyone with a guest list above 350, anyone who needs on-site rooms for guests, or anyone who wants an air-conditioned hall.
Planner tipBook both venues if the budget allows. Running the mehendi in the Backyard and the wedding at the main venue means two completely different-looking events in the same compound, which is something no single-lawn venue can offer at this size.

Asked and answered

Farmhouse Collective wedding questions

Was Farmhouse Collective called Farmhouse Social?

Yes. The venue has renamed to Farmhouse Collective and its own site uses only the new name. Directory listings, older blog posts and several aggregators still index the old one, which is worth knowing when you are comparing reviews across sites.

How many guests can Farmhouse Collective hold?

The main venue takes 300 to 350 guests and Backyard by Farmhouse Collective takes 80 to 90, per the venue's own site. The WedMeGood listing records a single lawn at 300 seated / 350 floating, checked 11 September 2026. Above 350, this is not the right property.

Are Farmhouse Collective and Backyard the same place?

Same property, two separate venues. Farmhouse Collective has a lawn with a stage, two dining halls, a courtyard, two service kitchens, 90-car parking and a two-bedroom air-conditioned house. Backyard has its own lawn and stage, covered dining, 70-seat furniture, a service kitchen, a sound system, 30-car parking and two cottages.

Do I have to bring my own caterer?

Yes. The listing records outside catering only. The main venue has two service kitchens, which is unusually generous for a farmhouse and makes a 300-guest meal practical. Confirm with your caterer which kitchen handles the hot line and which the plating.

What does Farmhouse Collective cost?

The listing records the venue as rental-only with the price on request, and neither the venue's site nor the listing publishes a figure. Because catering is yours, your total is the space rental plus your caterer plus decor. Ask for the rental against your specific date and whether it covers one venue or both.

Is Farmhouse Collective pet-friendly?

Yes, both venues are. The venue makes a point of it. If you want a dog in the wedding photographs, it is a shorter list of Bangalore venues than you would expect.

Is there a rain backup?

Partly. The main venue has two dining halls and a courtyard, so the meal is covered. The ceremony on the lawn is not, and the usual answer is a clear-roof tent, which suits this property because it keeps the tree canopy visible. Contract that at booking if your date is between June and October.

Where exactly is Farmhouse Collective?

Nirmala Farm, Budigere Cross, Virgonagar Post, Old Madras Road, Bengaluru 560049. WedMeGood files it under Aavalahalli, which is the same stretch described from a different landmark. It is easy from Whitefield and east Bangalore and a long drive from the south and west.

Can I bring my own decorator and DJ?

Yes to both, and outside alcohol is permitted as well. Nothing here is tied to a house vendor. The Backyard also has its own sound system if you want a smaller function without a hired rig.

Are there rooms for guests?

A two-bedroom air-conditioned house at the main venue and two air-conditioned cottages at the Backyard. That is accommodation for the wedding party, not for guests. Everyone else stays in Whitefield or on the Old Madras Road corridor.

How much parking is there?

90 cars at Farmhouse Collective and 30 at the Backyard, per the venue's own site. Those numbers match the guest counts rather than exceeding them, so a full 350-guest wedding should plan a shuttle or an overflow field rather than assuming everyone drives in.

What would Panigrahana do differently here?

Less. The planting at this venue is genuinely dense — a creeper tunnel at the entrance, full-grown trees along the lawn edges — and building a set into it makes the place look worse, not better. We would dress three or four existing moments, use clear-roof tents so the canopy stays in frame, and light warm and low from trunk bases rather than rigging a truss plot into a garden.
