What an event planner does on a wedding, hour by hour
The word "event planner" hides the part that matters, which is the floor. A wedding is not one event; it is four to nine of them, most of them overlapping, several of them in the same room with a two-hour changeover. What you are buying is somebody whose whole attention is on that sequence while yours is not.
On a standard three-function Bangalore wedding, the planning team is responsible for

This matters if you are comparing quotes. A general events agency will price a wedding from an events template; a wedding studio prices it from the functions. The second number is usually the one that survives contact with the day.
How the fee is quoted, and what moves it
The planning fee here is a flat amount for the scope written into the proposal, not a percentage of what you spend. Design and decor are quoted separately for their own scope and production. Venue, catering, photography and the rest are paid by you directly to those vendors, because this studio takes zero commission from them.

- What happens if it rains, and who decides?

Questions couples ask
Is an event planner the same as a wedding planner?
In Bangalore the words are used interchangeably by families, and our own search data shows the same people arriving on both. The practical difference is the firm behind the word: a general events agency also does conferences and product launches, while a wedding studio only does weddings. Ask which you are talking to, because the crew and the supplier list are different.
Do you take corporate events?
No. Corporate work runs on different timelines, different suppliers and a different kind of risk, and taking it would mean our production crew is committed elsewhere in wedding season. Turning it down is why the team is free in November and December.
What does an event planner in Bangalore charge?
It is quoted per wedding rather than off a rate card, because the two variables that matter — number of functions and number of crew days — change more than anything else. What you can compare like for like is the model: ask every studio for a flat fee against the same written scope.
Can you handle a wedding at a venue outside the city?
Yes, within the belt we work in: Nandi Hills, Coorg, Mysore, Chikmagalur and Sakleshpur, plus Goa and Kerala. Travel and stay for the crew are quoted in, and stated, rather than absorbed into a vague line.
Do you provide the decor yourself or hire it in?
In house. The design and production team is about thirty people and the sets are built for your wedding rather than pulled from a rental catalogue. That is also why decor is quoted for its own scope and production instead of being folded invisibly into a planning fee.
How far ahead should we book?
For a peak-season date between November and February, as early as you can, because the constraint is usually the venue rather than us. For an off-peak date, a few months is workable. Either way, the planner-first order helps: the shortlist gets drawn against your number instead of against a photograph.
We already have a decorator. Can you just run the event?
Yes — coordination-only is a scope we quote. The one condition is access: we need the vendor contracts, the venue's rules and the schedule early enough to build a run sheet that everyone has agreed to before the week of the wedding.
