Srishti Vilasa sits at Somanahalli off Thattaguppe Road on the Kanakapura corridor, with a main lawn the listing puts at a thousand seated. That is a very large lawn by south Bangalore standards, edged with coconut palms and finished with a long reflecting pool at one end that gives a photographer a mirror without anything being built.

The spaces are named in Kannada: Srishti, Angala, Thrupthi. There is also a semi-covered lawn under a steel frame, which is the piece that matters most in practice. A lawn with a roof over it is the difference between a monsoon-season wedding that works and one that is a bet on the weather.

Unusually, the venue publishes a rate card: two lakh for twelve hours and one space, four for twenty-four, six for thirty-six, eight for forty-eight. Very few Bangalore venues print a price at all, and being able to see the ladder makes a multi-day booking easy to reason about.

  • Main lawn listed at 1,000 seated — one of the largest single lawns on the Kanakapura corridor
  • A semi-covered lawn as a genuine monsoon plan
  • A printed rate card: ₹2 lakh for 12 hours, rising to ₹8 lakh for 48 hours
  • 25 rooms on site, sleeping about 65
  • Both in-house and outside catering allowed; decor from a panel
  • Named spaces in Kannada — Srishti, Angala, Thrupthi

Designed, not just planned

Wedding planning & decor at Srishti Vilasa: how we would design it

The reflecting pool at the lawn's end is the best asset on the property and it is easy to waste. Water returns light, so a mandap or stage placed at that end doubles every fixture you hang and gives an evening ceremony a foreground no lawn otherwise has. The mistake is putting the stage at the opposite end because that is where the access road is; walk the site at dusk before deciding. The lawn is very large at a thousand seated, and large lawns eat decor — anything below waist height disappears at fifty metres, so the design has to be vertical and repeated rather than horizontal and detailed. Coconut palms along the edges give exactly the vertical repeat to work with: uplight the trunks at regular intervals and the lawn acquires an edge. The semi-covered lawn has a steel roof, which means real rigging points and a usable space for a night function in August. Because decor is panel-restricted, the outside design role here is drawings and supervision, so settle the arrangement before the booking.

Which function goes where

HaldiAngala in the morning. Smaller, contained and separate from the main lawn build.
MehendiThe semi-covered Vilasa Lawn. Roof overhead, open sides, shade and light together.
SangeetMain lawn with an outside DJ, or the semi-covered lawn if the night is wet.
Wedding ceremonyMain lawn, with the mandap set against the reflecting pool so the water is in the wide frame.
ReceptionMain lawn seated, with Thrupthi handling dining for a separate turn.

Season and weather

November to February for the open lawn. The semi-covered lawn makes June to September practical for functions up to about 300, which is more than most venues on this corridor can offer.

Arrivals, access and logistics

Somanahalli sits off Thattaguppe Road on the Kanakapura corridor, which is a clear run from south Bangalore and a long haul from the north and east. The venue's own microsite puts the airport at 110 minutes away, which is realistic. Parking is described as sufficient with no count published, so ask.

An honest read

Is Srishti Vilasa the right venue for your wedding?

Right for you ifSouth Bangalore families with 500–1,000 guests who want a large lawn, a published price and a covered option, and are comfortable on the Kanakapura corridor.
Look elsewhere ifAnyone who wants their own decorator, an air-conditioned ballroom, or a venue close to the airport.
Planner tipTake the 24-hour rate rather than the 12-hour one for any real wedding. Twelve hours and one space sounds like enough until you count the decor build, and the difference between the two tiers is smaller than the cost of a rushed setup.

Asked and answered

Srishti Vilasa wedding questions

How many guests can Srishti Vilasa hold?

The WedMeGood listing records a lawn at 1,000 seated / 1,200 floating, Srishti at 500 / 800, Angala at 300 / 500 and Thrupthi at 250 / 300, checked 11 September 2026. The venue's own microsite gives a maximum of 1,000 with the Srishti Lawn at 600 seated. Confirm which figure applies to your layout on a site visit.

What does Srishti Vilasa cost?

The venue publishes a rate card: ₹2,00,000 for 12 hours and one space, ₹4,00,000 for 24 hours, ₹6,00,000 for 36 hours and ₹8,00,000 for 48 hours. Plate rates on WedMeGood are ₹1,500 vegetarian and ₹1,700 non-vegetarian, taxes extra, with rooms from ₹4,000. Very few Bangalore venues print a price at all.

Where exactly is Srishti Vilasa?

55, 61/1 Somanahalli, Thattaguppe Road, Uttarahalli Hobli, Kanakapura Road, Bengaluru 560082. The venue's own site says 110 minutes from Kempegowda International Airport, which is a realistic figure for this corridor. From south Bangalore it is a straightforward run; from the north or east, tell guests to leave far earlier than a maps estimate suggests.

Can I bring my own caterer?

Yes. The listing records in-house and outside catering as both allowed. Decor is the restricted category — decorators must come from the venue's panel — so ask for that list before you book.

Can I bring my own decorator?

No. The listing records decorators from panel only. An outside designer can still direct the work through drawings and supervision, but a panel vendor builds it. Settle that arrangement in writing at booking rather than later.

Is there a covered space for the monsoon?

Yes. The venue's own site lists a semi-covered Vilasa Lawn, which is a steel-framed roof over a lawn at about 300 seated. For a June-to-September date, that space is the plan and the open lawn is the bonus, not the other way round.

How many rooms are there?

The WedMeGood listing says 25 and the venue's own microsite says 26 accommodating 65 people. Either way it is a block for the wedding party, not for the guest list. Outstation guests will need hotels closer to the city.

Is alcohol allowed at Srishti Vilasa?

The listing records no in-house alcohol and outside alcohol permitted. You supply and staff the bar. Confirm the licensing requirement for your date, since responsibility sits with whoever supplies. Ask also whether the venue restricts service hours, because on this corridor the practical cut-off is often earlier than the licence allows.

Is the venue's website run by the venue?

Worth knowing: srishtivilasa.com is a venue-dedicated microsite operated by Meragi, a wedding planning company — its contact email, CMS and image CDN all belong to Meragi. The facts on it appear accurate and are used here, but it is not an independent venue site, and the booking number on it is a planner's line.

When did Srishti Vilasa open?

The listing records the venue as started in 2022 and shows it listed on WedMeGood for about three years and seven months as of September 2026. It carries a 5.0 rating from 15 reviews there.

What is the reflecting pool?

A long water feature at one end of the main lawn. It is the property's strongest photographic asset: water returns light, so a mandap placed at that end doubles every fixture you hang and gives an evening ceremony a foreground that a plain lawn cannot.

What would Panigrahana do at Srishti Vilasa?

Put the mandap at the water end even if the access road is at the other, and walk the site at dusk before committing. On a lawn this size, anything below waist height disappears at fifty metres, so the design goes vertical and repeated — and the coconut palms along the boundary give exactly the repeat to work with once their trunks are uplit.
