A traditionally styled lawn with Chettinad stone pillars and brass bells, planted with amla, bilva, audumbara, coconut, neem and mango — the tree list of a traditional Hindu ceremony rather than a landscaper's choice. It is listed at 250 seated on the venue's site and 350 on WedMeGood.

Design the seating arc at SuMeera before the mandap. A structure in the middle of water only reads correctly if the guest seating rings it, and a mandap designed for a straight-on view looks wrong from two thirds of the seats. We would also keep everything above the waterline light and open, and give each of the five spaces a genuinely different decor language, which is the thing this property makes possible and most weddings here waste.

A mandap in the centre of a pool has one enormous advantage and one non-negotiable rule: the water doubles every light you hang, and the guest seating has to ring it so that nobody is looking at the structure edge-on.
