Designed, not just planned
Wedding planning & decor at Bougainvilla: how we would design it
SuMeera sets the terms. A mandap in the centre of a pool has one enormous advantage and one non-negotiable rule: the water doubles every light you hang, and the guest seating has to ring it so that nobody is looking at the structure edge-on. Design the seating arc first, then the mandap, then the lighting — in that order, because a mandap designed for a straight-on view will look wrong from two thirds of the seats. Keep everything above the waterline light and open; a heavy canopy over water reads as a lid. Divine Bells has its own strong grammar already — Chettinad pillars and brass bells — so decor there should extend that language rather than overlay a different one, and the planted trees mean garlands can be hung from living branches instead of frames. Floral Trellis's retractable roof is the property's best practical feature and the worst-lit: with the roof closed you lose the sky, so a lighting plot for that space should be designed for the closed state and dimmed for the open one, not the reverse.

Kanakapura Road past the NICE Road junction is straightforward from south Bangalore and a long drive from the north and east.
