The Woodrose is Brigade Hospitality's club inside the Brigade Millennium campus in JP Nagar 7th Phase, and its lawn is the reason it appears on a wedding shortlist. It is terraced — a curved lawn stepping down in shallow tiers to a stage at the lower end, with mature trees ringing the whole bowl. That terracing means everyone can see without a raised platform, which is a thing most Bangalore lawns can only fake with scaffolding.
With thirty rooms, a pool, a spa, tennis courts and two restaurants on the same campus, it works as a small resort inside the city. WedMeGood lists a full-day buyout at ₹10 lakh for thirty rooms including three meals and the venue, which for a 300-guest wedding with the family staying over is a single comprehensible number.
Naming is in flux. Brigade's two official sources describe the indoor spaces differently, as The Blue Room and Terrace Courtyard on one and Ivory Hall and Terrace Garden on the other, which suggests a recent renovation or rename. Ask which names are current when you enquire.
- A terraced, curved lawn at 500 seated / 800 floating, ringed by mature trees
- 30 rooms on site — 20 Superior, 6 Deluxe and 4 Club
- Full-day buyout listed at ₹10 lakh for 30 rooms including meals and venue
- Terrace garden among the tree canopy for cocktails
- Swimming pool, tennis, squash, billiards and a spa on the same campus
- Outside decorators permitted; in-house catering and bar

Designed, not just planned
Wedding planning & decor at The Woodrose: how we would design it
The terracing is the whole design brief. A lawn that steps down in tiers towards a stage already has an amphitheatre geometry, so the single most effective decision is to stop building height and start building along the tier edges — a low floral or light run along each step reads as concentric rings from the stage and gives a photographer something no flat lawn provides. Put the mandap at the low end where the ground already focuses attention. The tree ring around the bowl is the ceiling: uplight the trunks and hang festoon between them at about five metres, and the enclosure does the rest. Do not tent the whole lawn unless you must; a clear-roof structure over the seating only, with the mandap open, keeps the tree line in frame. The banquet hall at a hundred seated is the rain plan for a fraction of the crowd, so a wet-month booking above that number needs a structure agreed at contract.
Which function goes where
| Haldi | Terrace garden in the morning, among the tree canopy. Small, shaded and separate from the main lawn. |
|---|---|
| Mehendi | Terrace garden or the banquet hall. At 70 to 100 guests both suit a mehendi for the family rather than the full list. |
| Sangeet | Lawn, using the terracing as tiered audience seating with the stage at the low end. Both in-house and outside DJs are permitted. |
| Wedding ceremony | Lawn. The mandap goes at the low end where the stage sits, and the tiers do the sightline work. |
| Reception | Lawn for the full guest list, with the terrace garden as the cocktail space beforehand and the banquet hall as the wet-weather room for a hundred. |
Season and weather
November to February for the lawn. The tree cover helps in March and April. From June to October the indoor fallback is only a hundred seats, so a structure over the lawn is the plan rather than the backup.
Arrivals, access and logistics
Brigade Millennium in JP Nagar 7th Phase is easy from south Bangalore and slow from the north and east. It is a gated residential campus shared with MLR Convention Centre, so vendor access, load-in timings and sound limits are governed by campus rules as well as the venue's. Guest vehicle entry should be arranged in advance.
An honest read
Is The Woodrose the right venue for your wedding?
| Right for you if | South Bangalore families with 250–500 guests who want a garden wedding inside the city, with rooms for the wedding party and club facilities for guests between functions. |
|---|---|
| Look elsewhere if | Anyone above about 500 guests, anyone who needs their own caterer, and anyone who needs a large indoor fallback. |
| Planner tip | Price the buyout against a lawn-only booking. At ₹10 lakh for thirty rooms plus meals plus venue, the buyout stops being a luxury the moment your family would otherwise be booking twenty hotel rooms in JP Nagar anyway. |

Asked and answered
The Woodrose wedding questions
How many guests can The Woodrose hold?
The listing records an outdoor lawn at 500 seated / 800 floating, an indoor banquet hall at 100 / 140, a terrace garden at 70 / 100 and a conference hall at 50 / 80, checked 11 September 2026. The lawn is the only space that takes a full wedding crowd.
Where exactly is The Woodrose?
Brigade Millennium Campus, 7th Phase, J.P. Nagar, Bengaluru 560078 — the same campus as MLR Convention Centre JP Nagar. It is not at ASC Centre or in Cambridge Layout; those are different institutions entirely.
How many rooms does The Woodrose have?
Thirty: 20 Superior, 6 Deluxe and 4 Club, per Brigade Hospitality's own breakdown. Brigade's corporate site gives the same total as '30 rooms on a chargeable basis'. That covers the wedding party and close family.
What does a wedding at The Woodrose cost?
WedMeGood lists a destination price of ₹10 lakh per day for 30 rooms including rooms, three meals and the venue, plus a room rate from ₹6,500 and plate rates of ₹1,050 vegetarian and ₹1,300 non-vegetarian, taxes extra, checked 11 September 2026. In-house decor starts at ₹60,000.
What is the lawn actually like?
Terraced. It curves and steps down in shallow tiers towards a stage at the low end, ringed by mature trees. The tiering gives natural sightlines, which means you do not need to raise the mandap on scaffolding for the back rows to see.
Can I bring my own decorator?
Yes. The listing records outside decorators permitted, with in-house decor also available from ₹60,000. Catering is in-house, so the design freedom is real but the menu is the venue's. On a terraced lawn like this one, that split works in your favour: the design is the part that needs a specific hand, and the food is the part a club kitchen handles well.
Is alcohol allowed at The Woodrose?
Yes, in-house. The club has its own bar, Tonic Lounge, alongside The Melting Pot restaurant and The Baking Company. Confirm whether outside alcohol is permitted for your event, as the listing's terms for that are not explicit.
What is the rain backup?
The banquet hall at 100 seated, against a lawn that takes 500. That is not a like-for-like fallback. From June to October, a structure over the lawn should be agreed at contract stage rather than arranged in the final week.
What else is at the club for guests?
A swimming pool, tennis and squash courts, badminton, table tennis, billiards, a gym, a spa, a salon and a library, plus three food and beverage outlets. For a two-day wedding, that gives guests somewhere to be between functions, which most venues cannot offer.
Has The Woodrose renamed its spaces?
It looks that way. Brigade Hospitality's page names The Blue Room, The Terrace Courtyard and an Amphitheatre; Brigade's corporate site names Ivory Hall and Terrace Garden. The venue also dropped 'Club' from its public name. Ask which names are current when you enquire, so your floor plans match the contract.
Who operates The Woodrose?
Brigade Hospitality, part of the Brigade Group, which also runs Augusta Club at Brigade Gardenia, MLR Convention Centre in JP Nagar and Whitefield, and Signature Club Resort at Devanahalli. The in-house catering with permitted outside decorators arrangement is consistent across their properties, so if you have negotiated it at one you know what to expect at another.
What would Panigrahana do on this lawn?
Stop building height and start building along the tiers. A lawn that steps down towards a stage already has amphitheatre geometry, so a low floral or light run along each step reads as concentric rings from the stage and gives the photographer something a flat lawn cannot. The tree ring is the ceiling: uplight the trunks, hang festoon between them at about five metres, and if a tent is needed, cover only the seating so the tree line stays in frame.
