Designed, not just planned

How we would design a wedding at Azaya Beach Resort

Azaya's architecture does a lot of the work: white walls, a long reflecting pool, palms and the sea at the end of it. Heavy, dark decor fights that. We would keep mandaps light and open, pick up the resort's blues rather than adding a new colour story, and use the pool as a lighting surface at night. The beach is flat and open to the wind, so structures there need weighting and a simple outline. Because outside decorators are permitted, the studio can build its own pieces here rather than hiring from a catalogue.
