1 · Venue Catering — Per-Plate Bands by City
Catering is the largest single line in most South Indian wedding budgets, and per-plate rate is how venues quote it. These bands are drawn from the published rates of the 161 Bangalore, Goa and Kerala venues in our working roster — the venues we actually scout, negotiate and produce at.

Reading the table: Kerala's typical band sits highest because its wedding-grade inventory skews to 5-star backwater and clifftop resorts; Bangalore's large mid-market (convention halls, garden venues) pulls its typical band down while its palace hotels reach ₹15,000. Venue/space rental, rooms and decor are additional everywhere.
2 · Wedding Decor — Four Cost Tiers
Unlike venue rates, decor pricing is opaque — quotes for the same brief can vary 3×. These tiers reflect what decor actually costs to produce, based on mandaps, florals, lighting and stage sets fabricated by our own in-house team across 500+ weddings.

5 · The NRI Wedding — First-Hand Data
From 150 NRI weddings produced for couples based in the USA, UK, Australia, Singapore, UAE, Canada and 6 other countries:
- ~75% of guests fly in from abroad on a typical NRI wedding.
- About half of NRI couples never visit India before the wedding week; the rest make a single ~7-day trip (food tasting, outfit fittings, makeup patch-test).
- November–February is the dominant wedding window, aligned to winter holidays abroad.
- Payments typically follow a 30/50/20 milestone structure, contracted in INR to remove exchange-rate risk.

6 · Demand Index — What Couples Actually Budget
Every published wedding price list describes the supply side — what venues and vendors charge. This section describes the demand side: what couples say they want to spend when they first enquire. It is drawn from 664 wedding enquiries received by Panigrahana between January and August 2026, of which 161 stated a budget. No other published Indian wedding dataset covers this.
- The median stated wedding budget across South India is ₹10 lakh. The middle half of enquiries fall between ₹6 lakh and ₹20 lakh (n=161).
- Goa enquiries budget 50% higher than Bangalore: the median stated budget for a Goa wedding is ₹15 lakh (n=23) against ₹10 lakh for Bangalore (n=70). Kerala matches Bangalore at ₹10 lakh (n=12).
- Couples who go on to book do not budget higher than couples who only enquire: the median stated budget among booked weddings is also ₹10 lakh (n=79).
- February is the busiest wedding month in South India, and it is booked furthest ahead: as of August 2026, February 2027 already carries 41 enquiries against 34 for January 2027 — couples lock February dates 12 or more months in advance.

- Flower-market tracking — wholesale rates from KR Market Bangalore and other major Indian flower markets, tracked by our decor ops team.
- Enquiry data (Demand Index) — 664 wedding enquiries received January–August 2026 through our website, Instagram, referrals and marketplaces; budget medians computed on the 161 enquiries that stated a budget. Aggregates only; no individual enquiry is identifiable.
