Moongate Events Venue — questions couples and parents ask

How much does Moongate Events Venue cost per plate?

Moongate Events Venue in Chikkajala, Bangalore charges from ₹650 per plate for vegetarian and ₹850 per plate for non-vegetarian menus, cooked by its own in-house kitchen. Those are the rates we work to from weddings we have produced here; taxes and any premium menu upgrades sit on top. The plate rate is only half the story at Moongate, because the venue is priced as a day rental of ₹12 lakh plus catering, rather than the hotel model where the plate carries everything. Ask for the current menu card for your date in writing, since rates move with season and menu tier.

What does a 150-guest wedding at Moongate cost in total?

A 150-guest, two-day wedding at Moongate Events Venue, Bangalore comes to roughly ₹36–₹44 lakh all-in, indicative. The arithmetic: venue rental ₹12 lakh × 2 days = ₹24 lakh; catering for three functions (150 × 3 = 450 plates) at ₹650–₹850 = about ₹3–₹4 lakh; restrained decor ₹5–₹8 lakh; photography and video ₹3–₹6 lakh; guest transport ₹1–₹2 lakh. Rooms for the family are billed separately by the venue. Menu tier and design scope move the number; the rental is the fixed part.

What does a 300-guest wedding at Moongate cost?

For 300 guests over two days, Moongate Events Venue, Bangalore works out to about ₹41–₹51 lakh all-in, indicative. Rental stays at ₹12 lakh × 2 = ₹24 lakh because it is a day rate, not a per-head charge. Catering roughly doubles: 300 × 3 functions = 900 plates × ₹650–₹850 = about ₹6–₹7.5 lakh. Decor for a fuller programme sits at ₹6–₹10 lakh, photography ₹3–₹6 lakh and transport ₹2–₹3 lakh. Because rental is fixed, the per-guest cost falls as the list grows, which is why Moongate suits 300-plus weddings well.

What does a 500-guest wedding at Moongate cost?

A 500-guest, two-day wedding at Moongate Events Venue, Bangalore lands at roughly ₹46–₹58 lakh all-in, indicative. Rental: ₹12 lakh × 2 days = ₹24 lakh. Catering: 500 × 3 functions = 1,500 plates × ₹650–₹850 = ₹9.75–₹12.75 lakh. Decor across the Pavilion Lawn and Opa Hall: ₹7–₹12 lakh. Photography and video ₹3–₹6 lakh, guest fleet and buses ₹2–₹3 lakh. At this size the catering line overtakes decor, so the menu decision is the one that moves the budget most. Ask us for a line-item version for your date.

How is Moongate priced: minimum guarantee or day rental?

Moongate Events Venue, Bangalore is priced on a day-rental model: ₹12 lakh per day for the estate, with in-house catering billed per plate on top. This is different from hotel venues like JW Marriott Golfshire, where you commit to a minimum guarantee of plates and the venue comes bundled. The advantage of the rental model is clarity: the space cost does not change if your guest count moves by 50, and the catering line scales exactly with the plates you order. Confirm with the venue whether the day rate covers all five spaces or a subset, and get the function-by-function allocation in writing.

How many rooms does Moongate have, and can the family stay on site?

Moongate Events Venue, Bangalore has 47 suites on the property, including 2 family flats and 2 dormitories, and the venue states it can house around 150 guests overnight. Rooms are billed separately from the ₹12 lakh day rental. In practice the 47 suites cover the two immediate families, elderly relatives and the bridal party, which is exactly who needs to wake up where the morning muhurtham happens. Overflow guests go to hotels along Airport Road and in Devanahalli, ten to fifteen minutes away. Ask the venue how the room block is confirmed and when unused rooms release.

What is the capacity of each space at Moongate?

Moongate Events Venue, Bangalore hosts 350 to 2,000 guests across five main spaces. Opa Banquet Hall is a 10,000 sq ft air-conditioned hall seating 800 with a 2,000 sq ft stage; the Pavilion Lawn takes up to 2,000 floating or about 1,000 seated; Sonne is an elevated east-facing open-air stage for 400; Lacu is the lakefront stage for 200; and the Fig Tree Courtyard suits 100–150 for morning rituals. The venue's own site also lists Ambrosia Dining Hall at 250 seated or 400 buffet and a Gazebo Garden for 200. Ask for seated figures for your specific layout.

Is Moongate an outdoor venue, and what happens if it rains?

Moongate Events Venue, Bangalore is both: the Pavilion Lawn, Sonne stage and Lacu lakefront are open-air, while the 800-seat Opa Banquet Hall is a built, air-conditioned indoor space. That is the rain plan, and it is a built one rather than a rented one. If a June or September date turns wet, the reception moves into Opa Hall without a German hangar arriving on 48 hours' notice at your cost. We make the indoor-or-outdoor call with you at the layout stage, function by function, and design the decor so it works in either room.

Can I bring my own decorator to Moongate?

Yes. Moongate Events Venue, Bangalore has in-house decoration services and also allows outside decorators, which is how Panigrahana has designed weddings here, including Raghav and Divya's 300-guest industrial-chic wedding with a drone light show. Confirm the current outside-vendor terms in writing when you book, including any access fee and the set-up windows for the lawn and Opa Hall. The setting rewards restraint: the lake and hill do most of the work, so our installations are designed to frame the view rather than hide it.

Who does the catering at Moongate, and is alcohol allowed?

Catering at Moongate Events Venue, Bangalore is in-house, from ₹650 per plate vegetarian and ₹850 non-vegetarian, with separate veg and non-veg kitchens and a dining hall built for wedding volume. The kitchen holds its quality at full guest count, which matters more than any tasting for six. External caterers may be discussed with the venue case by case. On alcohol, the venue confirms its bar and licence terms per event; ask for the policy, corkage and licence responsibility in writing before you plan a cocktail sangeet.

Which months are best for a wedding at Moongate?

The best months for a wedding at Moongate Events Venue, Bangalore are November to February, when the lawn evenings are cool and dry and the lake catches the light, followed by the late-summer window of August to early September. December weekends and the big muhurtham dates in January and February book earliest at any Bangalore venue, so hold them 9–12 months out. March to May afternoons are warm, which is where the air-conditioned Opa Hall earns its place for the midday gap. June and July are green and quieter, and weekday rates in these months are worth asking about.

How far is Moongate from Bangalore airport and the city?

Moongate Events Venue is on International Airport Road at Chikkajala, about 10 km from Kempegowda International Airport, and the venue puts the city centre at roughly 25 km. From MG Road or Indiranagar allow 45–60 minutes depending on the hour; from Hebbal and Yelahanka it is 20–30 minutes. For guests flying in from abroad or other cities this is the venue's quiet advantage: they land, and they arrive, without crossing the city. For a guest list heavy on Bangalore-south relatives, plan buses and a 90-minute buffer for the morning functions.

How far in advance should we book Moongate?

Book Moongate Events Venue, Bangalore 9–12 months ahead for a December weekend or a major muhurtham date, and 6–9 months for other peak-season dates. With 47 suites and a ceiling of 2,000, it is on most north-Bangalore shortlists, so popular dates go first. A weekday or an off-season month can often be confirmed 3–4 months out. Ask the venue for a written hold with its expiry date, then finalise the room block and catering counts around 60 days before the wedding.

We live abroad. How do we plan a Moongate wedding from the US, UK or Gulf?

Around 300 of Panigrahana's 500+ weddings have been planned with couples living outside India, across 12 countries, and Moongate Events Venue, Bangalore is a frequent choice because guests land 10 km away. We run live video walkthroughs of Opa Hall, the lawn from the mandap position and the suites your parents would stay in. Calls are scheduled early morning or late evening IST to match your time zone. Budgets, layouts and decisions live in our client portal, and payment runs as three rupee milestones of 30/50/20 percent to Wedvitez Planners, our invoicing entity, so the number never moves with the exchange rate.

Can we do a traditional mandap and havan at Moongate, with an early-morning muhurtham?

Yes. Moongate Events Venue, Bangalore takes a mandap on the Pavilion Lawn with the lake behind it, or on the Sonne stage, which faces east and suits a sunrise muhurtham. A havan or homam is straightforward in the open-air spaces; confirm the fire-safety terms with the venue for an indoor homam in Opa Hall. Because the family sleeps in the 47 on-site suites, a 5 am muhurtham stops being a convoy across the city. Our team builds the mandap original for each couple, sized for the priest, both families and the photographers' angles.

Can we do a pre-wedding shoot at Moongate?

Moongate Events Venue, Bangalore offers lake, lawn, courtyard and a hillside within one 10-acre estate, so a pre-wedding shoot here needs no location hopping. The Lacu lakefront and the Fig Tree Courtyard photograph best in the first two hours after sunrise and the last hour before sunset. Access and fees for shoots are set by the venue per booking; couples who have booked the wedding here usually get the simplest terms. Ask the venue for shoot windows in writing and share them with your photographer.

Where does the sangeet happen at Moongate?

For a sangeet at Moongate Events Venue, Bangalore the Pavilion Lawn takes the open-air set for up to 2,000, and Opa Banquet Hall gives an 800-seat air-conditioned room with built-in sound and a 2,000 sq ft stage. Our usual sequence is the open-air performances on the Sonne stage or the lawn, then the DJ moving indoors to Opa Hall for the late set. The Ambrosia Dining Hall handles dinner in parallel, so the dance floor is never cleared for service.

Is there enough parking at Moongate for a big wedding?

Moongate Events Venue, Bangalore has valet parking for around 600 cars inside the estate, plus a separate bus parking area, which is more than most north-Bangalore venues. For a 1,000-plus guest list we still plan arrival: a bus fleet from city pickup points, a marked drop-off loop at the gate for elderly guests, and valet staffing matched to the expected peak. Confirm the valet arrangement and any charges with the venue in writing.

What are the sound and DJ rules at Moongate? When does the music stop?

At Moongate Events Venue, Bangalore, outdoor amplified sound winds down by 10 pm under Karnataka noise rules that apply statewide. The venue's answer is a built one: Opa Banquet Hall, 800 seated and air-conditioned, takes the DJ indoors after 10. We sequence the sangeet so the open-air set ends on time and the party continues inside, and nobody experiences it as a shutdown. Moongate has an in-house DJ service; outside DJs and sound vendors are discussed with the venue. Get the indoor cut-off time in writing too.

What is included in the Moongate rental, and what is extra?

The ₹12 lakh per day at Moongate Events Venue, Bangalore covers use of the estate and its event spaces; ask the venue to list exactly which spaces and hours. Billed separately: in-house catering at ₹650–₹850 per plate, the 47 suites, decor, photography, entertainment, guest transport, and any generator or licence costs. Panigrahana's design and planning fee is a flat ₹5–25 lakh+ with no vendor commissions. We quote all of this as one line-item estimate for your date so there is no second document later.

What hidden costs should we watch for at Moongate?

The lines that surprise families at Moongate Events Venue, Bangalore are rarely hidden, just unlisted on the first call: GST on rental and catering, room charges for the 47 suites, generator and power for a 2,000-guest build, security and valet staffing, cleaning, and any outside-vendor access fees. For a two-day programme, confirm whether set-up on the day before counts as a rental day. Ask for a written list of every chargeable item; a good venue will give it, and we build the estimate from that list rather than the brochure.

How does Moongate compare with Samaya and Amita Rasa?

Moongate Events Venue, Bangalore is a ₹12 lakh per day rental with in-house catering at ₹650–₹850 per plate, 47 rooms and 350–2,000 guests. Samaya Venue and Leisure on Hesaraghatta Road is ₹7.5 lakh per day with in-house catering at ₹400–₹600 per plate, 25 rooms and 250–1,500 guests: a lower entry cost in an areca-plantation setting. Amita Rasa near Nandi Hills is ₹16 lakh per day rental excluding catering, 7 rooms and 200–2,000 guests: a design-led stone-mandap estate for families bringing their own caterer. Moongate wins on rooms and airport access; the other two on price or design character.

Who plans weddings at Moongate?

Panigrahana Weddings, an architect-founded studio in Bangalore, has designed and produced weddings at Moongate Events Venue, including Raghav and Divya's 300-guest industrial-chic wedding with a drone light show. Panigrahana has designed 500+ weddings since 2016 and is rated 4.8/5 across 93 Google reviews. Fees are a flat ₹5–25 lakh+ depending on scope, with no vendor commissions, so the venue and vendor quotes you see are the real ones. Every mandap and set is designed in-house for the couple, never pulled from a rental catalogue.

Is Moongate worth it, and who is it right for?

Moongate Events Venue, Bangalore is worth its ₹12 lakh day rate for families with 300–2,000 guests, a large out-of-town contingent, and a multi-day programme. The 47 suites, the built indoor backup and the 10-minute airport run solve the three problems that make big Bangalore weddings hard. It is a secular estate that hosts Hindu, Christian and mixed-tradition weddings. For an intimate 100-guest wedding the fixed rental is harder to justify, and a hotel per-plate model or a smaller estate may suit better. We will tell you honestly which side of that line you sit on.

Where can we see photos of weddings at Moongate?

The gallery on this page shows Moongate Events Venue, Bangalore across its spaces, and our published story of Raghav and Divya's March 2024 wedding here shows a full Panigrahana build on the property, with the budget split and what the venue allowed. Meghana and Akshay's filmed review from their Moongate wedding is embedded above. Ask us on WhatsApp for the wedding film and a private album from our productions here, which we share with the couples' consent.

Is Moongate manageable for elderly guests and grandparents?

Moongate Events Venue, Bangalore is wheelchair accessible with ramps through the estate, and the layout keeps the main spaces close together on one 10-acre site. The 47 suites mean grandparents can rest between functions instead of travelling back to a hotel, and the air-conditioned Opa Hall gives a cool room for the afternoon gap. We plan a drop-off loop at the gate, reserved seating near the mandap, and a golf-cart or buggy run for the longest walks; confirm buggy availability with the venue.

What does a two-day wedding itinerary at Moongate look like?

A typical two-day programme at Moongate Events Venue, Bangalore: Day one, morning haldi on the lawn or in the Fig Tree Courtyard, afternoon mehendi with lunch in Ambrosia, then sangeet at dusk on the Pavilion Lawn or the Sonne stage, moving indoors to Opa Hall for the late DJ set. Day two, an early-morning muhurtham on the east-facing Sonne stage or a lawn mandap, lunch for the full list, and an evening reception in Opa Hall or on the lawn. The family sleeps in the suites throughout, so nothing starts with a convoy.

Can Moongate do pure vegetarian, Jain or sattvic menus?

Yes. Moongate Events Venue, Bangalore runs separate vegetarian and non-vegetarian kitchens, and its vegetarian menus start at ₹650 per plate. Pure-veg, Jain (no onion, no garlic, no root vegetables) and sattvic menus for the muhurtham day are standard requests here and the kitchen accommodates them; regional menus such as Kannadiga, Tamil Brahmin or Marwari are set at the tasting. Confirm in writing that the muhurtham meal is cooked in the vegetarian kitchen only, and ask for the Jain counter to be labelled at the buffet.

Our guests are flying in from abroad. How does Moongate handle overseas logistics?

For guests flying in, Moongate Events Venue, Bangalore is about as simple as an Indian wedding venue gets: 10 km from Kempegowda International Airport, with 47 suites on site and overflow hotels along Airport Road. We coordinate airport pickups against the flight manifest, a check-in desk at the venue, and a WhatsApp group for the travelling party. Guests never enter city traffic. For couples abroad, calls run in early-morning or late-evening IST, everything sits in one client portal, and payments are three rupee milestones so the plan does not move with the dollar or dirham.

How do we book Moongate, and what is the first step?

Start by sending Panigrahana your date and guest count for Moongate Events Venue, Bangalore through the form or WhatsApp on this page; we confirm availability and send a realistic line-item budget the same day. Next comes a site visit or a live video walkthrough, then a written hold from the venue with an expiry. Booking is confirmed with the venue's advance against a signed function sheet listing spaces, hours and catering counts. Our fee is flat, ₹5–25 lakh+ by scope, paid in three milestones: 30 percent to start, 50 at design sign-off, 20 before the wedding.

Not a Hotel. Not a Resort. A Wedding Estate Built Only for Events.

Moongate's defining advantage is its identity: it is not a hotel that also handles weddings. It was conceived, designed, and built exclusively for events. Every space, every staff member, every layout decision was made with one thing in mind — the perfect wedding. The result is a venue that functions without friction, conflict, or the compromises that come from sharing a property with unrelated hotel operations.

Moongate Events Venue reviews — what stands out from producing weddings here

Public review pages tell you about the food and the photos. What we can add, having designed and produced weddings at Moongate, is how the property behaves under load. The in-house kitchen holds its quality at full guest count, which matters more than anything a tasting for six reveals. The operations team is event staff, not hotel staff moonlighting on a banquet, and the difference shows at turnover time, when one function has to become the next. And the 47 on-site suites change the shape of the wedding itself: the family wakes up where the haldi happens, and the morning muhurtham stops being a 5 am convoy across the city.

Read the venue's own Google reviews alongside this. Then ask any shortlisted planner what they would flag about the property. The specific answer, or the absence of one, tells you whether they have actually built a wedding there.

How Moongate compares to the venues couples weigh it against

Moongate is usually shortlisted against the other exclusive-use estates rather than against hotels. If you are deciding between two or three, these are the head-to-head reads we keep updated:

Samaya vs Moongate

Two purpose-built estates, two settings. Samaya is an areca plantation at a lower day rental with 25 rooms; Moongate is the lake-view estate with 47 suites and the bigger ceiling.

Moongate vs Miraya Greens

North vs south Bangalore, airport convenience vs city access. The guest list usually decides this one before the couple does.

Amita Rasa

The other north-Bangalore contender, near Nandi Hills: a stone mandap and a design-led setting, 7 rooms on site against Moongate's 47.

Booking Moongate from the US, UK or the Gulf

Around 300 of our 500+ weddings have been planned with couples living outside India — the Gulf, the US, the UK and beyond. Moongate comes up constantly on those calls, for one practical reason: your guests land 10 km away. Here is how the remote plan works.

One trip, not four

We compress every in-person decision — venue walkthrough, tasting, decor mockup review — into a single India visit, scheduled around your leave. Everything else happens on video calls timed to your evening, which is our morning in Bangalore.

You see the venue before you fly

We do live video walkthroughs of Moongate: the Opa Hall, the lawn from the mandap position, the suites your parents would stay in. You shortlist from your living room and fly only to confirm.

Payments you can trace

Milestone-based payments against a written scope, on invoice, to one accountable company — not a dozen transfers to individual vendors you have never met. Your bank and your CA see exactly what each payment bought.

One planning portal

Budgets, vendor decisions, layouts and payment schedules live in our couple portal, so you and your parents in India are looking at the same page, in both senses.

Moongate lakeside floral arches

Three floral arches stand beside the lake, with hanging mirrored globes between the flowers. This study follows the curved frames, flowers and suspended details, then shows the completed installation.

An animated plan, sketch, three-dimensional model and render lead to our actual completed decor photograph. The design studies were reconstructed after the event to explain the finished work; they are not original approval drawings.

Our designers work with our own artisans, welders and carpenters. Layouts, material choices and line-item estimates guide the installation, supported by our warehouse and in-house decor inventory.
