Panigrahana wedding data

Wedding data for South India, published with its working

Panigrahana publishes five open datasets on weddings in the Karnataka belt, Goa and Kerala: what venues quote, what couples search for, what they enquire about, and which days of 2027 the almanac opens. Every figure carries its n, its window and its provenance; every report ships a CSV under CC BY 4.0; every cell too thin to publish is printed as suppressed rather than quietly dropped.

The rule the whole programme rests on: never publish a number we cannot show the working for. Where a figure is something we have booked at, it says so. Where it is a listing reference we have not re-verified, it says that instead.

Update cadence and downloads

Each edition keeps its predecessor live at a dated URL. A report that quietly overwrites last quarter's numbers cannot be cited, because the citation breaks.

How these numbers are made

Four sources, and nothing else. The venue registry — 927 venues that each have a public page on this site — gives the price, capacity and room figures, with an evidence tier computed on every row. Google Search Console, for the property panigrahana.com, gives the demand figures; that is one website's data and never national search volume, and the report says so on the page. Our own enquiry table gives the planning figures, as GROUP BY aggregates only — no name, phone number, email address or message is ever selected, and no cell below n=20 is published. A named almanac, fetched and cited with its access date and its geolocation, gives the 2027 calendar; we count what it publishes and compute no muhurtham ourselves.

Where a figure needs a founder's judgement rather than a query — an all-in per-guest number, for instance — it is not here. That is the point.

Questions about this dataset

What data does Panigrahana publish?

Five datasets: the South India Wedding Venue Price Index (per-plate, rental, room and capacity medians for 927 venues), Wedding Search Trends (sixteen months of Search Console demand), What Couples Are Planning (aggregate enquiry shares), the 2027 wedding-dates calendar, and the row-level Wedding Venue Cost Registry of 1,047 venues that the others are computed from.

Is the data free to use?

Yes. Everything is CC BY 4.0 with a CSV download. Credit "Panigrahana Weddings, panigrahana.com/wedding-data.html" and link back where the medium allows. Commercial use is fine.

How often is it updated?

The Price Index, Search Trends and What Couples Are Planning are quarterly. The 2027 dates calendar is annual and refreshed quarterly. The venue registry rebuilds on every deploy. Each edition stays live at its own URL so a citation does not break.

Do you publish any personal data?

No. The enquiry report is aggregate-only — no name, phone number, email address, message, IP hash or raw payload is ever selected, and any cell holding fewer than 20 enquiries is suppressed and named as suppressed.

Can journalists ask for a cut that is not published?

Yes — write to info@panigrahana.com. We can usually run it, and where the roster cannot support a figure we will say so rather than estimate one.

Planning a wedding rather than citing one?

The numbers on these pages exist because we plan the weddings behind them. Tell us your month and guest count and we will come back with what is open and what it costs.
