  • A dry wedding suits your family

About The Tamarind Tree

Deep Dive

The Tamarind Tree is five acres at Avalahalli, JP Nagar 9th Phase, off Kanakapura Road, about 17 km from MG Road by the venue's own distance table. It is built around a 400-year-old tamarind, a natural pond and a colonial Gazebo, and the whole property goes to one party at a time. The venue's own site says it was named Best Wedding Venue in India by WeddingSutra.

It works as a pure event space: catering is outside only, which gives you full freedom over the cook and the menu. Five spaces carry a wedding: the Gazebo & Lawn (600 seated, 1,500 floating on WedMeGood), the Pond Pavillion (200 seated under a roof), Athithishala (150), the Vishnu Mantapa (120) and the Heritage Villa. The 28 rooms sleep nearly 100, on the venue's own figure.

WedMeGood shows 4.8 across 34 reviews (checked 27 September 2026). The venue quotes its rental on request, so the budget is built from that quote plus your caterer's. Panigrahana designed Vikram and Kaamya's marigold wedding here; the story, with our photographs, is in our Tamarind Tree decor story.

About Nature's Knots

Nature Knots is eight acres at Nrithyagram, Hesaraghatta Grass Farm, about 55 km and an hour from MG Road by the venue's own figure. It was the founder's family home and garden for two decades, and the planting shows it. Five spaces are named after raagas: Kedar, an indoor hall for 600 seated; Kalyani, an amphitheatre for 300; Maduvanti, the open lawn for 2,500-plus; Vasanta; and Abheri. Forty-six rooms in four blocks let the family stay on site (natureknots.in, checked 27 September 2026).

The operating model needs reading before you fall for the place. Your caterer cooks in a 3,500 sq ft pure-vegetarian kitchen, with non-vegetarian food prepared in a separate outdoor setup. WedMeGood lists the rental at ₹14,00,000 per function, taxes extra, records decor as in-house and says outside alcohol is not permitted. The venue publishes rainwater harvesting and solar power as its own commitments; they are not an independent certification.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common Questions

Nature Knots publishes a figure and The Tamarind Tree does not. WedMeGood lists Nature Knots at 14 lakh per function, taxes extra (checked 27 September 2026); The Tamarind Tree quotes its rental on request. Both use your own caterer, so put the two written venue quotes next to the same catering quote before you decide.
Nature Knots, with 46 rooms in four blocks plus two dormitories (natureknots.in, checked 27 September 2026). The Tamarind Tree has 28 rooms, which the venue says sleep nearly 100 people. For a multi-day wedding with the extended family staying on site, Nature Knots has the edge.
Nature Knots: eight acres against five, and its open Maduvanti lawn is published at 2,500-plus guests. The Tamarind Tree's largest space, the Gazebo & Lawn, takes 600 seated and 1,500 floating on WedMeGood, and the venue says the estate is comfortable up to 1,000. For 1,500 guests or more, look at Nature Knots.
At both, you must. The Tamarind Tree has no in-house catering and hands your caterer two kitchens. Nature Knots gives your caterer a 3,500 sq ft pure-vegetarian kitchen, with non-vegetarian food cooked in a separate outdoor setup. The bigger difference is the bar: WedMeGood lists outside alcohol as permitted at The Tamarind Tree and not permitted at Nature Knots.
Both work for 300. Choose The Tamarind Tree for the 400-year-old tamarind, the pond and a bar, with guests driving in from South Bangalore. Choose Nature Knots if the family stays on site, you want a covered 600-seat hall as the rain plan, and a dry wedding suits you. Panigrahana has designed weddings at both.
