Per-plate menus (2026, indicative)

What the per-plate rate covers: venue usage, catering, service staff, basic table setup and standard crockery. GST (18%) is additional. Minimum guest guarantees apply — typically 200 for the Prince of Wales Lawn and 100 for the other spaces — so a small function in a large space is priced on the guarantee, not on heads through the door. This is why the space you choose for each function matters as much financially as it does visually.

Room blocks — 117 heritage rooms

Wedding room blocks typically run ₹12,000–₹25,000 per night depending on category and season, and usually receive a 15–20% discount from rack rates. Book blocks at least 6 months out to secure your preferred categories. Where a guest list needs more than the 117 rooms on site, overflow accommodation can be arranged at nearby Taj properties — but the great advantage here is that the wedding family sleeps, dresses and walks to every function inside the same 20 acres.

The century-old rain trees, the heritage architecture, the manicured lawns — these are the design, and the studio's job is to enhance them rather than bury them. The best weddings we have built here are the ones where guests could not tell where the venue ended and the decor began.

Three reasons generic decor doesn't land here

• The canopy is already the ceiling. A towering enclosed mandap under the rain trees hides the best feature of the venue. Open frames, low horizons and hanging florals let the canopy stay visible and do the work.
• Heritage architecture rewards restraint. The colonial buildings, wrought-iron railings and stone pathways set a vocabulary: natural materials, warm light, organic forms. Wood, brass and wrought iron sit inside that language; chrome, acrylic and LED-embedded structures sit outside it.
• The light moves fast. The lawn travels from dappled afternoon sun through golden hour to deep twilight in about 90 minutes. A palette must work in all three. Colours that sing at 4 PM can wash out at 6 PM and disappear by 7:30 PM — which is why we swatch-test on site, at the hour of the event, before finalising any palette.

Mandap design

On the lawn: open-frame structures work best — four pillars with a minimal canopy so the rain-tree branches stay visible above. Materials in wood, brass or wrought iron echo the heritage character. Optimal footprint is about 12×12 ft, elevated roughly 18 inches — high enough to see, low enough that guests still feel inside the ceremony rather than watching it from below. In the ballroom: the room's scale invites a larger, more enclosed structure — 14×14 or 16×16 ft, up to 10–12 ft tall, with crystal elements, a suspended floral canopy and integrated lighting that answers the room's existing chandeliers. Budget ₹3–₹8 lakh.

Placement: the most common mistake is centring the mandap in the middle of the lawn, which creates a dead zone behind it and wastes the depth of the space. Position it against the tree line on the western edge, facing east: guests get a living backdrop no decorator can build, the afternoon sun sits behind the trees for a natural halo at golden hour, and the open lawn stays free for dining — which cuts the turnaround between ceremony and reception dramatically.

Rain-tree fairy lights — the signature look

• Regal Jewel — burgundy, emerald, navy, gold. The power palette; it holds across day and evening light and is the natural fit for the Grand Ballroom and evening receptions.

Transforming the Grand Ballroom — three layers

Layer 1 — ceiling treatment (₹1.5–₹3 lakh): fabric draping, suspended floral installations, or both. Ivory sheer in gentle swags radiating from the central chandelier to the walls creates instant warmth; hanging floral rings or greenery chandeliers add drama.

Layer 2 — lighting design (₹2–₹3.5 lakh): wall washes in amber or rose gold, pin spots on table centrepieces, programmable stage lighting, gobo projections on the dance floor. This is the layer that does the atmospheric heavy lifting — it transforms a room more effectively than another ₹5 lakh of florals ever will.

Layer 3 — ground level (₹2–₹5 lakh): stage backdrop, centrepieces, aisle decor and the entrance installation. The entrance matters most: it is the threshold between the hotel's everyday world and your wedding's, and a floral arch or fabric tunnel there lifts the whole guest experience. Poolside and the smaller lawns

At the Poolside, the water is the centrepiece and everything else frames it: floating florals and candles in the pool, lounge seating with low tables around the edges, a small raised platform at one end for a DJ or performance, and warm string lights crossing overhead to define the space without enclosing it. Keep sightlines across the water clear, and keep candles off the movement paths — the poolside walkways are intimate by design. Budget ₹1.5–₹3.5 lakh.

The secondary garden spaces reward the same restraint: urlis with floating flowers, a few fabric drapes, low seating with bolsters, ambient light. A ₹50,000 budget spent intelligently in a garden here produces a more memorable morning than ₹3 lakh of generic decor in a convention hall.
