The lawn at White Mist at dusk with rows of chairs facing a lit mandap and the open sky behind
Official venue website (NAVA Resorts) · checked 2026-09-11

White Mist sits on the Devanahalli side of the Nandi Hills road, before Prestige Golfshire, on ground high enough that the rock ridge of the hills sits on the skyline behind the lawn. That view is the property's entire proposition. A mandap on this lawn has a horizon behind it that no decorator in Bangalore can fabricate, and morning functions here get mist in the frame often enough that the name is not marketing.

It works as a buyout. Forty-eight suites and villas, one lawn at 450 seated, a pool deck and a small indoor hall, all on the same compound, priced by WedMeGood as a ₹10 lakh full day including rooms, three meals and the venue. For a hundred-guest wedding where everyone stays two nights, that is a single number instead of fifteen.

The property has changed its name. It was White Mist by Happy Retreats and now trades as White Mist by NAVA, with the NAVA Resorts site as its home. Older listings, including several directories, still carry the old name and stale room counts.

  • Nandi Hills rock ridge on the skyline behind the lawn
  • 48 hill-view suites and villas, enough for a full buyout
  • Outdoor lawn listed at 450 seated / 700 floating
  • Full-day buyout listed at ₹10 lakh including rooms, three meals and the venue
  • Pet-friendly resort
  • Rebranded from White Mist by Happy Retreats to White Mist by NAVA

Designed, not just planned

Wedding planning & decor at White Mist by NAVA: how we would design it

Design here is a subtraction problem. The Nandi ridge on the skyline is the best thing on the property and almost everything a decorator builds on that lawn ends up between the guests and it. Keep the mandap low and open-sided, put nothing taller than about two and a half metres on the horizon line, and set the guest seating so the ridge is behind the couple rather than behind the crowd. The lawn is unshaded, which is why the ceremony belongs in the last two hours of daylight rather than at midday. The pool deck is the second-best space and it points the other way, which makes it the right place for a morning haldi. The real planning constraint is rain: the indoor hall holds 60 against a 450-seated lawn, so a wet date means a tented structure contracted in advance, not improvised. Being 900-plus metres up near Devanahalli, December and January nights get genuinely cold after ten, so an outdoor reception needs heaters or an early finish.

Which function goes where

HaldiPoolside in the morning, with the hills behind. The east-facing aspect means early light comes across the water rather than into the lens.
MehendiPoolside or the terrace. Both are small — 100 seated at the pool, 60 on the terrace — so this suits a mehendi for the family rather than for the whole guest list.
SangeetLawn with either the in-house or an outside DJ. The resort permits both. The open aspect means sound carries, so agree a curfew.
Wedding ceremonyLawn, with the Nandi Hills ridge behind the mandap. Late afternoon into sunset is the slot that uses the view properly.
ReceptionLawn again, reset. The indoor hall holds 60, so an indoor reception is not a realistic alternative for a full guest list.

Season and weather

November to February is the strongest window — dry lawn, clear ridge line, mist on winter mornings. December and January nights are cold enough at this elevation to need heaters. June to September is a real risk given the 60-seat indoor fallback.

Arrivals, access and logistics

It is on the Devanahalli side, before Prestige Golfshire on the Nandi Hills road, which puts it close to Kempegowda International Airport and a long way from the city. For a fly-in guest list that is ideal. For Bangalore-resident guests driving up for one function and back the same night, it is a hard sell — which is another argument for treating it as a buyout with everyone staying over.

An honest read

Is White Mist by NAVA the right venue for your wedding?

Right for you ifCouples planning a 100–400 guest buyout wedding who want a hill horizon and everyone staying on site, and who are comfortable being an hour or more from the city.
Look elsewhere ifAnyone who needs their own caterer, anyone with a guest list above about 450 seated, and anyone whose date falls in the monsoon without budget for a tented structure.
Planner tipBuy the property, not the lawn. The ₹10 lakh day rate that includes rooms and meals is the number that makes this venue competitive; booking the lawn alone and putting guests in Devanahalli hotels throws away the main reason to come here.

Asked and answered

White Mist by NAVA wedding questions

Is White Mist still called White Mist by Happy Retreats?

No. The property now trades as White Mist by NAVA and its home site is navaresorts.in. The WedMeGood listing carries the old name as a 'formerly known as' line. Older directory listings, and several room counts on them, are out of date.

How many rooms does White Mist have?

The official NAVA site lists 48 hill-view suites and villas. The WedMeGood listing says 41 rooms and its buyout price is quoted against 41. Directory listings variously say 21, 24 and 50. Treat 48 as current and confirm the number the buyout price is calculated against.

How many guests can White Mist hold?

The listed spaces are an outdoor lawn at 450 seated / 700 floating, a poolside at 100 seated / 170 floating and an indoor banquet hall at 60 seated / 100 floating, checked 11 September 2026. The lawn is the only space that takes a full wedding crowd.

What does a wedding at White Mist cost?

WedMeGood lists a destination price of ₹10 lakh per day for 41 rooms, including rooms, three meals and the venue, plus a room rate from ₹5,499 and plate rates of ₹1,000 vegetarian and ₹1,200 non-vegetarian, taxes extra, checked 11 September 2026. In-house decor starts at ₹1,00,000. Ask for the current buyout number against 48 rooms.

Can I bring my own caterer to White Mist?

No. The listing records in-house catering only, at ₹1,000 per plate vegetarian and ₹1,200 non-vegetarian as a starting reference. Outside decorators are permitted and outside alcohol is permitted, so the restriction is food alone.

Does White Mist really have a Nandi Hills view?

Yes. The property sits at Esteem Misty Hills in Dasarahalli village on the Devanahalli side, before Prestige Golfshire on the Nandi Hills road, and the rock ridge is visible on the skyline from the lawn and from the rooms. It is a horizon view rather than a hilltop one.

Is White Mist pet-friendly?

Yes. The venue's own copy makes a point of it. For couples who want a dog in the wedding photographs, that permission is rarer than it should be among Bangalore resorts, and it is usually the deciding factor for the families it matters to. Confirm the conditions when you book, since most pet-friendly properties still restrict which rooms and which public areas apply.

What is the rain backup at White Mist?

Thin. The indoor banquet hall holds 60 seated against a lawn that holds 450. Between June and September a tented structure over the lawn is not optional, and it needs to be contracted at booking rather than arranged in the week before.

How cold does it get at night?

Cold enough to matter. The property sits on high ground near Devanahalli, and December and January nights drop sharply after ten. An outdoor reception in those months should either finish early or budget for patio heaters.

Is alcohol allowed at White Mist?

The listing records no in-house alcohol and outside alcohol permitted. That means you supply the bar. Confirm corkage and service arrangements in writing, and check the resort's licensing position for your date.

How far is White Mist from the airport?

It is on the Devanahalli side of north Bangalore, the same belt as the airport, so transfers for a fly-in guest list are short. Neither the resort nor the listing publishes a kilometre figure, so ask for one when you enquire rather than relying on a directory estimate.

What would Panigrahana do differently at White Mist?

Get out of the way of the ridge. The Nandi skyline is the best thing here and most lawn builds put a structure between the guests and it. We keep the mandap low and open-sided, cap anything on the horizon line at about two and a half metres, set the seating so the ridge sits behind the couple, and move the ceremony into the last two hours of daylight so the view is doing the lighting.
