Quick Answer · Nandi Hills Wedding Venues

The Nandi Hills belt north of Bangalore holds around fifteen wedding venues across Nandi Hills, Devanahalli, Bettahalasur, Chikkaballapura and Doddaballapura Road, from 50-guest boutique resorts to estates taking 5,000. Most sit 15 minutes to an hour from Kempegowda International Airport, which is the belt’s real advantage: guests fly in and arrive inside the hour. Season is October to March. Full listing with capacity, rooms and drive times below.

Couples come to this belt for one reason more than any other. It gives a destination wedding without the flights. Local relatives drive up in an hour, outstation guests land at KIA and reach the venue before the first function, and nobody is asked to take three days off work to attend a wedding.

Capacities and room counts are from our venue database. Per-plate rates are indicative and confirmed per date; the Amita Rasa day rental is a rate we have booked at. For the wider corridor including the airport-side hotels, see North Bangalore wedding venues.

Drive time and guest logistics

The belt is not one distance. Devanahalli venues sit about fifteen minutes from the airport; Nandi Highland is roughly an hour from central Bengaluru; Amita Rasa near Chikkaballapura is 60–70 km from the city, along Hebbal Flyover, Bellary Road, NH44 and through Devanahalli. That spread is the single most useful thing to fix before you shortlist, because it decides your transport plan.

Two rules hold across the belt. First, block on-site rooms when you book the venue, not later — they go to close family and they go first. Second, plan the drive home. An evening function that ends at eleven puts a few hundred guests on a highway at midnight, and that is a chartered bus problem, not a taxi problem. For a 400-guest wedding at the far end of the belt we typically run six to ten charter buses with a day-before arrival for close family.

Where the property has few rooms, the pattern is a block at two or three nearby hotels with shuttles running to the venue. On the Nandi Hills road that band is around ₹3,000–₹8,000 a night. For a 200-guest wedding where about half the list stays over, budget ₹3–₹6 lakh in room blocks plus ₹1–₹2 lakh in shuttles (source).

Why couples choose the belt over an in-city venue

The honest counter-case: if most of your guest list lives in South Bangalore or the city centre, the late-night drive home is real and you should price the transport before you fall in love with a lawn. And peak-season dates in this belt book out earlier than the city hotels do. Our venue decision framework works through the trade-off properly, and destination weddings near Bangalore covers the wider set of drive-to options including Coorg and the vineyard belt.

Weather and season

October to March. The foothills run 5–8°C cooler than Bangalore city, roughly 15–26°C, nights are cool and skies are clear. November to January is peak and gives the clearest light of the year. March to May is warm but works well for late-afternoon and evening programmes. June to September brings monsoon showers, when an indoor hall or a properly built rain structure becomes the anchor.

What goes wrong in this belt, and is avoidable

Do guests stay over?

At most belt weddings, some do, and the on-site room count is what decides how many. The range across the fifteen venues above is extreme: 301 rooms at JW Golfshire, 140 at Heritage Village, 102 at Mulberry Shades, 30 at Nandi Highland, seven across two villas at Amita Rasa, and none at all at Brigade Orchards.

Decide who genuinely needs to be on site overnight before you build the guest list, because that answer shapes the transport plan for every day of the wedding. Then ask the venue two questions: how and when the block is confirmed, and what the nearest alternatives are with their drive times. On-site rooms are the scarcest thing at most wedding venues and they are allocated in different ways — held against a block, released by date, or bundled into a minimum commitment.

For what the whole thing costs, our Bangalore venue cost guide carries confirmed day rates and per-plate bands, and how much a Bangalore wedding costs sets the all-in picture.

Common questions

What are the best wedding venues in Nandi Hills?
The Nandi Hills belt covers Nandi Hills itself, Devanahalli, Bettahalasur, Chikkaballapura and the Doddaballapura Road corridor. The fifteen venues we work in there range from Amita Rasa, a 28-acre heritage stone estate taken as an exclusive buyout, to JW Marriott Prestige Golfshire with 301 rooms and a championship golf course, to smaller boutique properties such as White Mist and Swaastha Retreat. Which is right depends far more on your guest count and how many people need to sleep over than on the view.
How far is Nandi Hills from Bangalore for a wedding?
The belt spans roughly 15 minutes to two hours depending on where in it you are. Devanahalli venues such as The Estate and JW Golfshire are about 15 minutes from Kempegowda International Airport; Nandi Highland is about an hour from central Bengaluru; Amita Rasa near Chikkaballapura is 60–70 km from the city. Airport proximity is what makes the belt work for guests flying in — many land and reach the venue inside an hour.
What is the best season for a Nandi Hills wedding?
October to March. The Nandi Hills foothills run 5–8°C cooler than Bangalore city, roughly 15–26°C, and November to January gives the clearest skies. March to May suits late-afternoon and evening programmes. June to September brings monsoon, when an indoor hall or a fully built and costed rain plan becomes the anchor rather than an afterthought.
Do guests stay overnight at Nandi Hills wedding venues?
Usually some do, and the on-site room count decides how many. It varies enormously across the belt: JW Golfshire has 301 rooms, Heritage Village 140, Mulberry Shades 102, while Amita Rasa has seven across two villas and Brigade Orchards has none on site. Where rooms are scarce, weddings run with blocks at nearby properties and shuttles. For a 200-guest wedding at Amita Rasa with about half the list staying over, expect ₹3–6 lakh in room blocks plus ₹1–2 lakh in shuttles.
Why choose the Nandi Hills belt over a venue inside Bangalore?
You get the feeling of leaving the city without anyone having to fly. Estate and resort venues in North Bangalore run 30–60% less than South Bangalore five-stars at similar scale, the BIAL corridor removes airport anxiety for outstation guests, and the landscape variety — plantations, lake views, hill backdrops — has no equivalent in the city. The trade is that relatives living in South Bangalore face a long drive home after an evening function, so transport has to be planned rather than assumed.
Can we hold a multi-day wedding in the Nandi Hills belt?
Yes, and it is the format the belt suits best. Properties with substantial room counts let the whole party stay together across mehendi, sangeet and the ceremony. Estates with several distinct spaces let each function have its own untouched setting rather than a strip-down and reset overnight, which is what a single-hall venue forces.
