Amaya, the indoor hall, is 1,995 square feet with a ten-foot ceiling and takes 70 on rounds. The Aurora poolside deck is roughly a thousand square feet and holds a mehendi or a cocktail hour. Read those three numbers together and the venue's natural size is clear: a wedding of up to about 250, with everyone staying on site.

Shanti Lawn is a long rectangle, 112 ft × 59 ft, with a paved path and the guest-villa blocks down one long side and planting and palms down the other. That geometry decides everything: the mandap or reception stage anchors one 59 ft end, the 112 ft length becomes the aisle and the guest field, and no guest is ever more than about thirty feet off-axis. Put the mandap at the north end. The Nandi Hills summit is almost due north of the property, so a north-facing mandap puts the granite dome behind the couple, and because Bangalore's wedding season of October to February has the sun tracking south of overhead, shooting north keeps the sun behind the camera all day. The couple, the mandap and the hill are all frontally lit, with no backlight to fight. For a 6.30–8.30 am muhurtham, low east light rakes along the length of the lawn; build the mandap open-framed in timber or brass with real florals so the sky and the rock stay visible through it, and keep the guest-side florals low. Dusk asks for the opposite. The hill goes flat and dark, so an evening reception stage needs its own built backdrop and warm uplighting up the villa wall, because the view stops working for you around 6.30 pm. Amaya's binding constraint is a ten-foot ceiling across all 1,995 sq ft. No truss towers, no hung chandeliers with any drop, no tall backdrop; an indoor mandap has to read horizontally and sit under about eight feet clear. The room also has a fixed timber AV wall with a mounted screen and a pull-down projection screen at the Amaya 2 end, so either build the stage backdrop to cover it or design around it, but do not discover it on load-in day. Amaya is wall-to-wall patterned carpet, which means waterproof trays under all florals, no havan fire indoors under any circumstance, and a protection layer under any bar or live counter. The airwall splits the hall into two 997 sq ft halves, and that is genuinely useful: Amaya 2 as the stage-and-dance room, Amaya 1 with its picture windows as the seated dining room. The Amaya Pre-function strip is 48 ft × 12 ft, and twelve feet wide is a corridor rather than a room, so use it for a welcome-drink line, a gift table and the photo-signing board, and nothing that needs chairs. At Aurora the pool is the design: floating candles and low lounge seating do more than structure, and any rigging within a metre of the water needs the resort's safety sign-off. The rain plan is the real design problem here. A 250-guest lawn function has no equivalent covered fallback, because Amaya takes 70 on rounds and 75 standing. For anything above about 100 guests outdoors, the rain plan is a pre-contracted clear-span marquee or a canopy over the lawn, booked and costed at signing rather than walked into indoors. The resort has no published rigging points and no published event power spec, so budget a silent DG and a distro run from the service road rather than assuming lawn power exists.

Season and weather
October to February is the window. The foothills sit a few degrees below the city, November to January gives the clearest skies over the lawn, and the sun's southerly track in those months is what makes a north-facing mandap photograph so well. March to May is hot enough that daytime functions should move to early morning or after 5 pm. June to September is the southwest monsoon, and because Amaya seats only 70 on rounds, a monsoon date here is a marquee decision rather than a walk-indoors decision: either commit to covering the lawn, or pick a different season. Peak weekends and the 102-room block are the two things that reward booking 9–12 months out, while shoulder and monsoon dates are usually available at 5–7 months and are the dates on which a minimum guarantee is most negotiable.
Arrivals, access and logistics
Guest arrival is the easiest thing about this venue. Kempegowda International Airport is roughly thirty minutes away, so staggered shuttles off flight manifests work cleanly and nobody crosses Bangalore. From the city centre allow well over an hour in traffic; this is a stay-over venue rather than a drive-in one, and the 102 rooms are what make that workable. The whole resort is low-rise and laid out around courtyards, so movement between the lawn, Amaya and the pool is on foot in minutes. Request ground-floor or near-lobby rooms for older guests in the block, and add golf-cart transfers across the grounds. Vendor access is the part to nail early. There are no published load-in hours, no published rigging points and no published event power spec, so the production plan, the service-entry route for decor trucks and a silent DG with its own distro all need to be agreed with the events team at booking rather than the week before. Yes: Shanti Lawn, 6,600 sq ft on Marriott's chart (checked 25 October 2026), takes an open-frame mandap and a homam with the resort's fire clearance and a fire-safe base, which we arrange in the production plan. Amaya is carpeted, so keep open flame outdoors and put the hall's florals on trays. Agree the fire terms in writing.

From October to February the sun tracks south, behind the camera, and a 6.30 to 8.30 am muhurtham gets low east light.
Is there a music cut-off, and can we bring our own DJ?
Outdoor music on Shanti Lawn and the poolside has a hard stop at 10:30 pm, as at every Bangalore venue we work at (Panigrahana booking records, October 2026); Bengaluru's noise rules set 10 pm for amplified outdoor sound.
