The Ritz-Carlton is Bangalore's service play. The ballroom is pillarless and 5,780 sq ft, with crystal-strand fixtures and a curved staircase down into a green-carpeted pre-function corridor behind jaali screens. What families are actually buying is the operating layer around it: a hotel-side celebrations team, 277 rooms and suites that the hotel says are the largest in the city, and a lobby your guests photograph before a single stem of decor goes up. It sits at 99 Residency Road, which puts MG Road, Brigade Road and UB City within minutes and makes a largely Bengaluru guest list drive minutes rather than hours.
Structurally it is a vertical property, and that is the honest frame. Nine function rooms and five breakout rooms stack inside one air-conditioned building: the main ballroom divides into three, a Junior Ballroom takes 120, Tasar and Eri together take 100, and Mulberry at 523 sq ft takes a nischayathartham. Above them sit the wellness floor with an outdoor pool screened by jaali walls, and BANG, the rooftop bar whose terrace looks over the skyline. There is no lawn and no estate. What there is instead is a programme with zero weather risk, so a June reception costs you nothing in nerves, and a ballroom sangeet that can run past the hour every outdoor venue in the city has to stop.
The number to chase is not a rental figure, because there isn't one. Each space carries a minimum guarantee, a catering floor for your date, and the room rides free above it. Two families comparing quotes for the same ballroom are usually comparing two different floors and two different menu tiers without knowing it. The public listing floor on WedMeGood is currently Rs 3,500 per plate with taxes extra; our indicative wedding band is Rs 5,000-9,000. Get the floor, the tier and the shortfall clause in writing, and compare against another five-star only at the same floor and the same tier.
- 5,780 sq ft pillarless ballroom (1,000 reception, 300 banquet, 700 theatre) dividing into three separate rooms

- 277 rooms and suites, the largest guest rooms in Bangalore by the hotel's own account

- 99 Residency Road: MG Road, Brigade Road and UB City are minutes away, Cubbon Park metro about ten
- Nine restaurants and bars including Zarqash by Michelin-starred chef Rohit Ghai, and a 17,000 sq ft spa floor

Function spaces at The Ritz-Carlton Bangalore
Every function needs its own room
| Space | Type | Seated | Floating | Sq ft | Air-conditioned | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| The Ritz-Carlton Ballroom | hall | 300 | 1,000 | 5,780 | Yes | The pillarless main ballroom, 5,780 sq ft: 1,000 reception, 300 banquet rounds, 700 theatre (hotel's published capacity chart). It divides into Ballroom 1 (1,961 sq ft), Ballroom 2 (1,827 sq ft) and Ballroom 3 (1,959 sq ft), which is how a 150-guest function and a 600-guest reception can run in the same room on different days. Crystal-strand ceiling fixtures and a curved grand staircase into the pre-function area are its signature. |
| Ballroom 1 | hall | 100 | 175 | 1,961 | Yes | Ballroom subdivision: 175 reception, 100 banquet, 200 theatre. |
| Ballroom 2 | hall | 96 | 150 | 1,827 | Yes | Ballroom subdivision: 150 reception, 96 banquet, 196 theatre. |
| Ballroom 3 | hall | 84 | 175 | 1,959 | Yes | Ballroom subdivision: 175 reception, 84 banquet, 180 theatre. |
| Junior Ballroom | hall | 80 | 120 | 1,724 | Yes | 1,724 sq ft: 120 reception, 80 banquet, 113 theatre. The right room for a mehendi, an engagement or a family lunch that should not rattle in the main ballroom. |
| Tasar & Eri (combined) | hall | 72 | 100 | 1,496 | Yes | 1,496 sq ft combined: 100 reception, 72 banquet, 120 theatre. Splits into Tasar (875 sq ft, 50 reception) and Eri (695 sq ft, 40 reception). |
| Mulberry | hall | 32 | 20 | 523 | Yes | 523 sq ft: 32 banquet, 40 theatre. The smallest bookable function room — a nischayathartham or a close-family lunch. |
| BANG - rooftop bar and terrace | terrace | — | — | — | No | The hotel's event-led rooftop bar with an open terrace over the city skyline. The WedMeGood listing specifically names a rooftop dining space for cocktail receptions, sangeets and mehendi parties, and listing photographs show it dressed with hanging florals for a daytime function. Capacity is not published — ask for it by name and in writing, because it is the only outdoor-feeling space at the property. |
| Outdoor pool deck (wellness floor) | poolside | — | — | — | No | Mosaic-tiled outdoor pool on the wellness floor, screened by jaali walls and planted with frangipani. Listing photographs show a ceremony platform set beside it under a hanging white floral canopy, so it has been used for a mandap — confirm availability, exclusivity and capacity for your date. |
A dash means the figure is not published. Ask for a measured plan of each space with the mandap, stage, dining and service access marked before you fix a guest count.
Planning details, policies & questions
The Ritz-Carlton Bangalore wedding cost evidence
What it actually costs
| Vegetarian plate | ₹3,500 per plate — Rs 3,500 per plate is the current public listing floor on WedMeGood, taxes extra — the entry menu, not a wedding quote. Panigrahana's indicative planning band for a wedding here is Rs 5,000-9,000 per plate before 18% GST, with the bar licensed and billed separately. Note this is a change: the js/data.js record still carries Rs 2,700 from an older WedMeGood pull. |
|---|---|
| Minimum guarantee | Per space, per date - not published |
What a wedding here tends to come to
Rs 5,000-9,000 per plate indicative for a wedding, before 18% GST; catering across two functions works out at roughly Rs 15-27 lakh for 150 guests, Rs 30-54 lakh for 300 and Rs 50-90 lakh for 500, before rooms, decor and entertainment
Price source: WedMeGood listing floor (Rs 3,500, taxes extra) + Panigrahana indicative planning bands, checked 2026-09-11. Published figures are reference points; ask the property for a written proposal for your date.
What does the food alone come to?
This uses The Ritz-Carlton Bangalore’s published per-plate reference for one meal service. It excludes tax, venue hire, rooms, drinks, decor and production.

The rules that shape the design
| Outside decorators | Outside decorators admitted subject to hotel approval alongside its empanelled list; the hotel also runs its own wedding specialists offering florals, decor and lighting. Establish the access fee, the load-in and load-out windows and the ballroom's rigging and ceiling-load rules in writing before any design is fabricated. |
|---|---|
| Catering | In-house only. The hotel's kitchens build the menus, including regional, Jain (no onion, garlic or root vegetables) and sattvic, at a tasting with the chef. There are nine restaurants and bars on site including Zarqash by Michelin-starred chef Rohit Ghai, Yan Yan, Izu, The Market and BANG. |
| Alcohol | Served by the hotel, licensed and billed separately from the plate — per bottle or as a package. |
| Music and DJ | DJs and live bands are standard. Because the wedding spaces are indoors, the 10 pm outdoor amplified-sound rule that ends every lawn sangeet in Bengaluru barely touches the ballroom programme; confirm the indoor cut-off for your date under the hotel's own licence. The rooftop and pool deck are outdoor and do fall under it. |
| Overnight stay | Yes — 277 rooms and suites, which the hotel states are the largest in the city. |
| Parking | Valet at the Residency Road entrance. The hotel confirms its parking commitment per event rather than publishing a count — ask for the number it will hold for your date in writing and plan shuttle drops for overflow. |
| Changing rooms | A complimentary guest room for the couple on the wedding night, plus preferential rates for guests (hotel's own events page). |

Wedding planning & decor at The Ritz-Carlton Bangalore: how we would design it
Designed, not just planned
This is a design job about lighting and ceilings, not about ground. The ballroom's crystal-strand fixtures are set in coffered drops and they are beautiful and they are fixed — the first decision is whether your scheme lives with them or under them. Living with them means warm-white uplight on the wood-panelled walls, low centrepieces and letting the crystal do the ceiling; going under them means a suspended installation hung off the rig points, which requires the ballroom's rigging and ceiling-load rules in writing before anything is fabricated, and those rules at a Ritz-Carlton are stricter than at an estate. The curved grand staircase into the pre-function area is the best entrance in any Bangalore hotel and is chronically underused: dress the staircase and the pre-function corridor as a sequence and the reception starts before anybody enters the room. That corridor already carries a strong green-and-gold carpet and dark jaali screens, so a cool white-and-silver palette fights it. Work with amber, ivory, deep rose and brass. The jaali motif runs through the whole building and is worth echoing in the mandap rather than ignoring. Second design fact: there is no ground-floor outdoor space, so the two outdoor options are the wellness-floor pool deck and the BANG rooftop. Both are hard-landscaped, both are wind-exposed at height, and both are governed by the 10 pm outdoor sound rule, so specify ballast rather than stakes and keep suspended elements modest. Third, everything loads in by service lift, which caps the size of any single fabricated element. Measure the lift before you draw the mandap. That single check is the difference between a set that arrives and a set that gets cut down on the loading dock.
Which function goes where
| Haldi | Junior Ballroom or Tasar and Eri combined — a daytime room you can make a mess in, with the family already resident upstairs. The pool deck on the wellness floor is the outdoor alternative if the hotel will hold it exclusively. |
|---|---|
| Mehendi | Junior Ballroom at 120, or BANG's rooftop terrace for a daytime mehendi with the skyline behind — the listing gallery shows exactly that, dressed with hanging florals and a long console of potted marigold. |
| Sangeet | The main ballroom. This is the property's quiet advantage: Bengaluru's 10 pm outdoor sound rule ends every lawn sangeet in the city, and inside the ballroom the performances, the DJ and the dance floor run later under the hotel's own licence. |
| Wedding ceremony | The ballroom, undivided, with the mandap set against the long wall so the staircase reads as the entry rather than the backdrop. Open-flame homam needs placement agreed in advance under the hotel's ventilation and fire-safety rules. The pool deck is the alternative for a small, atmospheric ceremony. |
| Reception | The ballroom again, re-dressed, with the pre-function corridor carrying the receiving line and the bar so the room itself stays clean. At 1,000 reception it is the ceiling of the property. |
Season and weather
October to March is peak demand, with muhurtham weekends booked 9-12 months out. But the calendar is more forgiving here than at any lawn venue in the city, because the wedding spaces are indoors and air-conditioned: April-May afternoons and June-September rain change nothing inside the ballroom, and off-peak dates usually carry softer minimum guarantees. If your dates are flexible, price a shoulder-month weekday against a December Saturday — same room, same menu, very different floor.
Arrivals, access and logistics
Central Bengaluru is the point. A largely city-based guest list drives 15-25 minutes off-peak from Indiranagar, Koramangala or Jayanagar, and Cubbon Park and MG Road metro stations are about ten minutes away — worth putting on the invitation card for a Friday evening function. Traffic peaks 6-8 pm, so a 7.30 pm reception wants a valet drop-off plan and an arrival window agreed with the hotel so the driveway stays clear for the baraat. The airport is the one long leg at about 35 km and 60-90 minutes; schedule overseas pickups in waves. With 277 rooms on site the wedding party never leaves the building. Negotiate a later-than-standard room-block release, because overseas guests book late and the block cut-off is where families get caught.
Is The Ritz-Carlton Bangalore the right venue for your wedding?
An honest read
| Right for you if | Families who rank service and brand above lawn area; receptions and sangeets where the ballroom look is the design; guest lists with overseas arrivals who know the flag worldwide; weddings of 100-700 that want everything indoors and weather-proof; families with elders, because every room and every function sits in one lift-served building; monsoon and off-season dates, where an indoor property removes the risk a lawn venue cannot. |
|---|---|
| Look elsewhere if | Outdoor-ceremony-first weddings — this is a tower with a rooftop, not an estate. Guest lists above 1,000 reception or above 300 for a seated banquet in one room. Families who want their own caterer for a community menu: catering is in-house only. And anyone whose budget is set by the plate rate alone, because the minimum guarantee, the bar and 18% GST are where the total is actually decided. |
| Planner tip | Three things in writing before the advance: the minimum-guarantee floor for your exact space and date, the shortfall clause (it is normally negotiable rather than charged at the full per-plate rate, which is the part almost nobody knows to ask for), and the ballroom's rigging and ceiling-load rules plus the service-lift dimensions. The first two decide your budget; the third decides whether your mandap can be built at all. |

The shortlist
The Ritz-Carlton Bangalore wedding questions
Asked and answered
How much does a wedding at The Ritz-Carlton Bangalore cost per plate?
The current public listing floor on WedMeGood is Rs 3,500 per plate with taxes extra — that is the entry menu, not a wedding quote. Panigrahana's indicative planning band for a wedding here is Rs 5,000-9,000 per plate before 18% GST, with the bar licensed and billed separately. Menu tier is the widest lever in any quote: the band between the standard and top menus is broad, so taste both before fixing the number.
Does The Ritz-Carlton Bangalore charge venue rental or work on a minimum guarantee?
A minimum guarantee. There is no flat hire fee — each ballroom and function room carries a plate-count floor for your date. Meet the floor and the space itself costs nothing beyond catering; fall short and you pay a shortfall on the remaining plates, which is normally negotiable rather than charged at the full per-plate rate. That last point is the part almost nobody knows to ask for. Get the floor, the tier and the shortfall clause in writing.
How big is the ballroom at The Ritz-Carlton Bangalore?
The Ritz-Carlton Ballroom is 5,780 sq ft and pillarless: 1,000 for a standing reception, 300 for a seated banquet, 700 theatre-style, per the hotel's own capacity chart. It divides into three rooms — Ballroom 1 at 1,961 sq ft, Ballroom 2 at 1,827 and Ballroom 3 at 1,959 — which is how the same room hosts a 150-guest mehendi and a 600-guest reception on different days of the same wedding.
What is the total event space at The Ritz-Carlton Bangalore?
The hotel publishes 1,102 sq m — about 11,860 sq ft — across nine event rooms and five breakout rooms. Beyond the main ballroom and its three subdivisions that means the Junior Ballroom (1,724 sq ft, 120 reception), Tasar and Eri combined (1,496 sq ft, 100 reception) or separately, Mulberry (523 sq ft) and a boardroom. Above them sit BANG, the rooftop bar and terrace, and the wellness-floor pool deck.
How many rooms does The Ritz-Carlton Bangalore have?
Two hundred and seventy-seven rooms and suites, which the hotel states are the largest guest rooms in the city. Its WedMeGood listing says 273 and our own record previously said 278 — the hotel's own overview page is the authority at 277. With every function in the same building, elders and overseas guests move room to muhurtham to reception by lift without stepping outside. Negotiate a later-than-standard block release.
Is there any outdoor space for a wedding at The Ritz-Carlton Bangalore?
Two, and neither is a lawn. BANG is the hotel's event-led rooftop bar with an open terrace over the skyline, and the WedMeGood listing specifically names a rooftop dining space for cocktail receptions, sangeets and mehendi. The wellness floor also carries an outdoor pool screened by jaali walls, and listing photographs show a ceremony platform set beside it under hanging florals. Neither publishes a capacity — ask for both by name.
Can we bring our own decorator to The Ritz-Carlton Bangalore?
Yes, subject to hotel approval alongside its empanelled list — the hotel also offers its own florals, decor and lighting through its wedding specialists. Settle three things in writing before anything is fabricated: any access fee, the load-in and load-out windows, and the ballroom's rigging and ceiling-load rules. Also measure the service lift, because everything arrives through it and that caps the size of any single built element.
Can we use an outside caterer at The Ritz-Carlton Bangalore?
No — catering is in-house, which is the standard five-star model and the reason the space itself carries no rental. Menus are built with the hotel's chefs at a tasting, including regional, Jain (no onion, garlic or root vegetables) and sattvic. The property runs nine restaurants and bars including Zarqash by Michelin-starred chef Rohit Ghai, so the kitchen depth is real. Tell the banquet team about Jain and allergen requirements at contract stage.
What is the rain plan at The Ritz-Carlton Bangalore?
There isn't one to budget, because the wedding spaces are indoors and air-conditioned. That is the structural argument for this property: a June-to-September date costs you nothing in nerves, no tent contingency, no weather call, florals and silk protected throughout. The only weather-exposed spaces are the rooftop terrace and the pool deck, so if your programme uses either, agree the indoor fallback room and the decision time in writing.
What time does the music stop at The Ritz-Carlton Bangalore?
Indoors, later than almost anywhere else in the city. Bengaluru's 10 pm rule on outdoor amplified sound ends every lawn sangeet in town, but the ballroom runs under the hotel's own licence and house rules, so performances and the dance floor can continue past it — confirm the indoor cut-off for your date in writing. The rooftop terrace and pool deck are outdoor spaces and do fall under the 10 pm rule.
How far is The Ritz-Carlton Bangalore from the airport and the metro?
Kempegowda International Airport is about 35 km, which is 60 to 90 minutes by road depending on the hour. The central address is the point in the other direction: Cubbon Park and MG Road metro stations are about ten minutes away, and Indiranagar, Koramangala and Jayanagar are 15-25 minutes off-peak. Put the metro station on the invitation card for a Friday evening function — it is the fastest way in.
Is The Ritz-Carlton Bangalore manageable for elderly guests?
It is one of the easiest venues in the city for grandparents. All 277 rooms and every function space sit inside one air-conditioned building served by lifts, so elders move from room to muhurtham to reception without crossing a lawn, climbing a step or meeting sun or rain. Wheelchair access runs door to door. Ask for rooms near the ballroom lifts for the eldest family members and keep a quiet family lounge near each function.
Can we hold the mandap and an early-morning muhurtham at The Ritz-Carlton Bangalore?
Yes. The full ritual programme runs here — mandap, havan and early muhurtham — with open-flame placement agreed in advance under the hotel's ventilation and fire-safety rules, which should be checked before the mandap is drawn rather than after. Early muhurthams are practical because the family is already resident: they walk down by lift, and the kitchen runs breakfast and the lunch banquet in sequence in the same building.
What is included in the per-plate rate and what is not?
Included: the function space against its minimum guarantee, the banquet menu, service staff and the standard banquet setup. Not included: 18% GST, the bar package, rooms from the 277-room block, decor and mandap, lighting, entertainment, photography, generator top-ups for a large build, and planning. A menu tasting and a banquet coordinator come with a confirmed booking. Ask for the current package sheet for your date rather than relying on any online figure, ours included.
How does The Ritz-Carlton compare with The Leela Palace and Taj West End?
Choose the Ritz for the service layer and a fully indoor, weather-proof programme in one lift-served building; the Leela Palace on HAL Airport Road for the largest room block behind a palace facade; Taj West End on Race Course Road for heritage gardens and an outdoor ceremony. The Ritz's ballroom ceiling is 1,000 reception, which is smaller than both — if your list is 800 seated, this is the wrong property. Compare floor times plate at the same menu tier across all three.
Are there real weddings at The Ritz-Carlton Bangalore we can see?
Yes — Sandeep and Meghana's wedding at The Ritz-Carlton Bangalore is published in Panigrahana's wedding-stories archive with the floor plan, the decor and what the venue allowed. Beyond that, our Instagram and YouTube carry films from weddings designed across Bangalore. Photographs show a room either empty or dressed for another couple; your design is drawn fresh for the mandap, stage and lighting, so judge by the moodboard rather than a previous wedding's palette.
Who should not book The Ritz-Carlton Bangalore?
Families set on an open-lawn ceremony — this is a tower with a rooftop, and the estates on our Bangalore venue table own that brief. Guest lists above 1,000 for a reception or 300 for a single seated banquet. Families who need their own caterer for a community or Jain menu cooked by a trusted cook, since catering is in-house only. And anyone budgeting from the plate rate alone, because the minimum guarantee, the bar and GST decide the real total.
