Thirty questions families ask about Taj Yeshwantpur — answered

Answer Bank

Written for the couple, the parents and the relatives abroad who are deciding together. Each answer stands on its own, so send the one you need.

What is the wedding cost per plate at Taj Yeshwantpur, Bangalore?

Taj Yeshwantpur, Bangalore, is publicly listed at ₹2,600 per plate veg and ₹2,800 non-veg (WedMeGood listing), taxes extra. That is the catering line; the hotel works on a minimum guarantee, so there is no separate hall fee once the plate floor for your date is met. Menu tier moves the number more than anything else — a wedding-grade buffet with live counters sits above the listing floor. Panigrahana builds a free line-item budget for your date and guest count before you visit.

How much does a 150-guest wedding at Taj Yeshwantpur cost in total?

A 150-guest, two-function wedding at Taj Yeshwantpur, Bangalore, lands around ₹12.8 lakh–16.4 lakh indicative — catering ₹7.8 lakh–8.4 lakh (150 guests × 2 functions × ₹2,600–₹2,800 per plate) plus decor. Rooms, alcohol, photography and GST sit on top. Guest count and the number of functions move the total far more than the venue does, which is why Panigrahana prices by function list first and venue second. Treat this as a planning band, not a quote.

How much does a 300-guest wedding at Taj Yeshwantpur cost in total?

A 300-guest, two-function wedding at Taj Yeshwantpur, Bangalore, lands around ₹27.6 lakh–36.8 lakh indicative — catering ₹15.6 lakh–16.8 lakh (300 guests × 2 functions × ₹2,600–₹2,800 per plate) plus decor. Rooms, alcohol, photography and GST sit on top. Guest count and the number of functions move the total far more than the venue does, which is why Panigrahana prices by function list first and venue second. Treat this as a planning band, not a quote.

How much does a 500-guest wedding at Taj Yeshwantpur cost in total?

A 500-guest, two-function wedding at Taj Yeshwantpur, Bangalore, lands around ₹41 lakh–63 lakh indicative — catering ₹26 lakh–28 lakh (500 guests × 2 functions × ₹2,600–₹2,800 per plate) plus decor. Rooms, alcohol, photography and GST sit on top. Guest count and the number of functions move the total far more than the venue does, which is why Panigrahana prices by function list first and venue second. Treat this as a planning band, not a quote.

Does Taj Yeshwantpur charge a venue rental or a minimum guarantee?

Taj Yeshwantpur, Bangalore, prices on a minimum guarantee: each space carries a plate-count floor for your date, and once you meet it the hall or lawn itself costs nothing beyond catering at ₹2,600+ per plate. A shortfall on a lighter count is normally negotiable rather than charged at full rate. Get the floor or rental, the menu tier and the shortfall clause in writing before paying an advance — Panigrahana negotiates these three lines on every hotel contract.

How many rooms does Taj Yeshwantpur have for wedding guests?

Taj Yeshwantpur, Bangalore, has 327 rooms (Taj official site), enough to keep the whole visiting family under one roof for a two-night block. The hotel publishes a published destination format of about ₹25 lakh per day for 100 rooms with three meals and venue (WedMeGood). Block rates fall with volume and season; Panigrahana negotiates the room block and the release schedule as part of the venue contract so unsold rooms are returned without penalty.

What is the capacity of each wedding space at Taj Yeshwantpur?

Taj Yeshwantpur, Bangalore, offers 2,000+ sq m of event space (Taj official site). Published capacities: Aura + Courtyard 1,000 seated / 1,500 floating; Aura (pillarless hall, 749 sq m, 6 m ceiling) 400 seated / 800 floating; Courtyard with Banyan Tree 500 seated / 700 floating; Strategy Hall (315 sq m) 160 seated / 300 floating; Harmony Hall (204 sq m) 80 seated / 150 floating; Azure 100 seated / 200 floating. Seated numbers are the honest ones for a dinner reception; floating figures assume a standing cocktail format. For a muhurtham with 300 seated in front of the mandap, Panigrahana plans on the seated figure and keeps 15% aside for the stage, aisle and camera lines.

Does Taj Yeshwantpur have outdoor spaces, and what is the rain plan?

Yes — Taj Yeshwantpur, Bangalore, has the Courtyard with the Banyan Tree (500 seated) and the poolside for open-air functions, with Aura, a 749 sq m pillarless hall that seats 400 at rounds and holds 800 theatre-style as the indoor fallback. Bangalore's rain risk runs June to October, with October evening showers the one most couples forget. The workable plan is to hold the indoor space on the same contract and decide 48 hours out; Panigrahana designs the mandap so it moves indoors without a rebuild, which is where most rain plans fail.

Can I bring my own decorator to Taj Yeshwantpur?

At Taj Yeshwantpur, Bangalore, outside decorators permitted (WedMeGood), with the usual approval steps: vendor registration, insurance and fire-safety declarations, and agreed access windows for build and strike. Panigrahana designs and fabricates every mandap in-house — an in-house fabrication team builds what the architects draw — and handles the hotel's approval file for you, so your design team is ours, not a forced in-house option.

What are the catering and alcohol rules at Taj Yeshwantpur?

Taj Yeshwantpur, Bangalore, runs catering in-house only at ₹2,600+ per plate, and alcohol is in-house bar; outside alcohol not permitted. That means the menu tasting is the most important meeting before signing — fix the tier, the live counters and the cuisine mix there. Bar packages are quoted per head or by consumption; Panigrahana models both against your guest list so the bar does not become the hidden line.

Which months are best for a wedding at Taj Yeshwantpur?

November to February is the peak for Taj Yeshwantpur, Bangalore — dry evenings of 15–22°C and the densest muhurtham calendar, so those dates book 9–15 months out. March to May is warm but reliable, with the best rate flexibility; June to October carries monsoon risk for any outdoor function. Panigrahana maps your family's muhurtham options against the hotel's availability and the rate calendar before you commit to a date.

How far is Taj Yeshwantpur from Bangalore airport and the city centre?

Taj Yeshwantpur sits in Yeshwantpur, Tumkur Road, north-west Bangalore — about 45 minutes by car from Kempegowda International Airport (Taj), and minutes from Yeshwantpur metro and the rail terminus; roughly 8 km from Majestic. The address is 2275 Tumkur Road, Yeshwantpur, Bengaluru 560022. For guest logistics, Panigrahana's hospitality team runs the transfers, flight manifests and an on-ground desk so the family's phones stay quiet on the day.

How far ahead should I book Taj Yeshwantpur for a wedding?

Book Taj Yeshwantpur, Bangalore, 9–15 months ahead for a November–February muhurtham date, 6–9 months for the rest of the year, and earlier still if you need a block of 50+ of its 327 rooms. Auspicious Saturdays and long weekends go first. Panigrahana can usually hold a date for 7–10 days while the family confirms, and moves faster on short-notice weddings by working the hotel's mid-week and off-season calendar.

Can we plan a wedding at Taj Yeshwantpur from the US, UK or UAE?

Yes — Panigrahana has planned 300 of its 500+ weddings for families living abroad across 12 countries, and Taj Yeshwantpur, Bangalore, is a straightforward venue to plan remotely. We run a live video walkthrough, share pricing in INR with a live USD/GBP/AED equivalent, and contract in INR so you carry no exchange-rate risk. Designs and budgets are approved inside our own couple portal; about half of our overseas couples arrive only for the wedding week, with guest transfers, room blocks and visas for visiting relatives handled by our logistics desk.

Can we hold traditional rituals — mandap, havan and muhurtham — at Taj Yeshwantpur?

Yes — Taj Yeshwantpur, Bangalore, hosts Hindu, Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Malayali and North Indian ceremonies with a mandap in its function spaces, and a contained havan kund is typically approved with the hotel's fire-safety sign-off. Early-morning muhurthams need the space released the previous night for the build, which we write into the contract. Panigrahana designs the mandap for one couple — original, fabricated in-house, never rented — and coordinates the pandit, the nadaswaram or shehnai and the ritual timings.

Is Taj Yeshwantpur good for a pre-wedding shoot and wedding photos?

Taj Yeshwantpur, Bangalore, photographs well: the lobby, pre-function foyer and the ballroom at chandelier height give clean, evenly lit frames, and the outdoor deck works for golden-hour portraits. Pre-wedding shoots on the property are usually arranged through the sales team for booked couples. Panigrahana plans the decor with the camera lines in mind — the mandap backdrop, the aisle and the stage are designed to be photographed, not just seen.

Can we host a sangeet or cocktail night at Taj Yeshwantpur?

Yes — Taj Yeshwantpur, Bangalore, holds a sangeet for 150–1,500 guests in Aura + Courtyard (1,000 seated), with outside DJ permitted and in-house bar. Indoor halls let the music run later than a lawn under Bangalore's 10 pm outdoor sound rule. Panigrahana designs the stage, the dance-floor lighting and the seating so the family performances read from the back row — the sangeet is the function most couples under-design and most regret.

Is there enough parking at Taj Yeshwantpur for a 500-guest wedding?

Taj Yeshwantpur, Bangalore, lists sufficient on-site parking (WedMeGood), which covers a 500-guest reception at the usual Bangalore ratio of one car per three to four guests. For larger counts we add valet stacking and a shuttle from an overflow lot. Panigrahana's logistics desk runs the arrival window, the valet and the guest drop-off so the family is not directing traffic at the gate.

What is the sound cut-off time at Taj Yeshwantpur?

At Taj Yeshwantpur, Bangalore, outdoor amplified music stops at 10 pm under Karnataka's noise rules, which apply to every lawn in the city; indoor halls can run later subject to the hotel's own policy, usually midnight for a ballroom. That is why most couples put the sangeet indoors and keep the lawn for the muhurtham and reception dinner. Panigrahana writes the cut-off and the extension terms into the contract so there is no argument at 9:55 pm.

What is included in the Taj Yeshwantpur wedding package, and what is extra?

At Taj Yeshwantpur, Bangalore, the per-plate rate (₹2,600+) covers the menu, the space once the floor is met, tables, chairs, linen, basic stage and standard lighting. Extra: decor and mandap, alcohol, DJ and sound beyond the house system, rooms, mehendi and make-up artists, photography, pandit and GST at 18% on food and beverage. Panigrahana's line-item budget separates the two lists so the family compares venues on the full number, not the headline plate.

What are the hidden costs at Taj Yeshwantpur?

The lines that surprise families at Taj Yeshwantpur, Bangalore: GST at 18% on the ₹2,600+ plate rate, bar packages priced per head rather than by consumption, early-access charges when a 7 am muhurtham needs the hall the night before, power and generator fees for a heavy decor load, and cleaning or damage deposits on lawns. None of these are unfair — they are simply absent from the first quote. Panigrahana asks for each one in writing before the advance; Planning scope and vendor payments are agreed in writing.

Taj Yeshwantpur or Taj West End — which is better for a Bangalore wedding?

Taj Yeshwantpur, Bangalore, at ₹2,600+ per plate with 327 rooms, compares with Taj West End at ₹4,000–₹7,500 per plate, 117 heritage rooms, 20 acres of garden. Choose Taj Yeshwantpur for families on Bangalore's north and west; choose Taj West End when its location or space shape fits your guest list better. Both are venues Panigrahana has priced and planned for; the honest comparison is at the same guest count and function list, which is what our free budget sheet does side by side.

Taj Yeshwantpur or The Golden Palms Hotel & Spa — which is better for a Bangalore wedding?

Taj Yeshwantpur, Bangalore, at ₹2,600+ per plate with 327 rooms, compares with The Golden Palms Hotel & Spa at ₹1,800–₹3,500 per plate, 150 rooms, off Tumkur Road. Choose Taj Yeshwantpur for families on Bangalore's north and west; choose The Golden Palms Hotel & Spa when its location or space shape fits your guest list better. Both are venues Panigrahana has priced and planned for; the honest comparison is at the same guest count and function list, which is what our free budget sheet does side by side.

Who plans weddings at Taj Yeshwantpur?

Panigrahana is an architect-founded wedding design studio that has designed 500+ weddings since 2018, rated 4.8/5 across 94 Google reviews, working on a flat planning fee quoted for the agreed scope with no vendor commissions, and it designs and plans weddings at Taj Yeshwantpur, Bangalore. Founded by architects, the studio draws every mandap and stage for one couple, fabricates it with an in-house team, and coordinates the hotel's catering, approvals, room block and guest logistics through its own couple-and-vendor portal. Clients pay vendors directly; the studio takes no commission from any of them.

Is Taj Yeshwantpur worth it, and who is it best suited to?

Taj Yeshwantpur, Bangalore, is worth it for families on Bangalore's north and west, 300–1,000 guest receptions, and outstation guests who want one roof for everyone. At ₹2,600+ per plate it sits in the city's five-star band, and what you buy is 2,000+ sq m of event space. It suits less well if your brief is a garden-first ceremony under old trees — the estates on our Bangalore venue table own that. Panigrahana tells couples plainly when another venue fits better; that is what a flat fee with no venue commission is for.

Where can I see photos of real weddings at Taj Yeshwantpur?

Real-wedding photographs from Taj Yeshwantpur, Bangalore, and its peer venues are on Panigrahana's Our Work pages and Instagram (@panigrahana_weddings), and the hotel's own listing on WedMeGood carries its albums. On a video call we walk you through the spaces live — the ballroom at 500 seated, the lawn at dusk — which tells you more than a styled gallery. Ask for our photo set for your exact space and guest count when you request the cost dossier.

Is Taj Yeshwantpur accessible for elderly guests and grandparents?

Taj Yeshwantpur, Bangalore, is a lift-served hotel with level access from the porch to the ballroom, accessible rooms on request, and wheelchairs from the concierge. For a 7 am muhurtham we schedule elders' arrival 30 minutes after the build is checked, seat them front-left of the mandap with an aisle, and keep a nurse-attended room on standby. Panigrahana's hospitality desk manages this quietly for every wedding.

What does a two-day wedding itinerary at Taj Yeshwantpur look like?

A typical two-day wedding at Taj Yeshwantpur, Bangalore, for 300 guests: Day 1 — check-in to the 327 rooms block by noon, haldi and mehendi at 3 pm in a function room, sangeet from 7 pm in Aura + Courtyard. Day 2 — muhurtham at the auspicious hour (often 7–10 am) with the mandap built overnight, lunch for all guests, rest, then reception from 6:30 pm with the 10 pm outdoor sound rule in mind. Panigrahana runs the minute-by-minute schedule and the family only follows it.

Does Taj Yeshwantpur do pure vegetarian, Jain and satvik catering?

Yes — Taj Yeshwantpur, Bangalore, caters vegetarian menus at ₹2,600 per plate on public listings, and the kitchen handles Jain (no onion, garlic or root vegetables), satvik and Udupi-style menus with a separate cooking line when the family asks. Confirm the separate-kitchen line and the tasting date at contract stage, because mixed buffets are the default. Panigrahana plans the tasting with both sets of parents present — the fastest way to settle the menu.

How do I book Taj Yeshwantpur for my wedding?

To book Taj Yeshwantpur, Bangalore: share your date options, guest count and function list; Panigrahana checks availability, arranges the site visit or a live video walkthrough, negotiates the plate floor, the room block and the shortfall clause, and manages the contract and advance. Wedding planning & decor at Taj Yeshwantpur, Bengaluru: how we would design it

Designed, not just planned

The banyan is the design and everything else should defer to it. A mature banyan has an aerial-root canopy that reads as architecture in its own right, so the mandap beneath it should be light, open and low — four slender uprights and a horizontal, not a solid structure — with the tree left visible above and behind. The gallery already shows the right instinct: tall thin poles rising into the canopy rather than a built roof. Light it from the ground into the branches, warm and from multiple angles so the aerial roots separate rather than flatten; a single flood will turn the whole tree into a silhouette. Two constraints that come with trees and hotels. First, nothing should be fixed into the trunk or major branches, and the hotel will have its own rules about this, so any suspension has to come off independent structure. Second, a courtyard surrounded by hotel building is a light trap at night: the facade will read as a dark wall behind the guests unless it is treated, so budget for washing the surrounding elevation as part of the scheme rather than as an extra. Indoors, Aura is a conventional divisible five-star ballroom with the usual rigging and floor-protection constraints; get them in writing before drawing.

Which function goes where

HaldiAura 3 or Harmony at 70 to 80 seated, or the poolside for a very small group. The hotel's own floor-protection rules will govern a turmeric function; agree them before the day.
MehendiAura 1 or Aura 2 at 100 to 120 seated, air-conditioned, which is what a four-hour seated mehendi wants.
SangeetThe full Aura ballroom. Outside DJs are permitted, so the sound is your choice; get the ballroom's rigging capacity and load limits from the banquet team before designing a rig.
Wedding ceremonyThe Courtyard under the banyan tree at up to 500 seated, with Aura held behind it as the weather fallback. That pairing is the strongest configuration on the property.
ReceptionAura + Courtyard at up to 1,000 seated, using the indoor room for dining and the courtyard for the arrival and the drinks.

Season and weather

The ballroom makes any month workable. The banyan courtyard is at its best from November to February; between June and September it should be treated as the optional half of the plan, with Aura held at the same date. December and January weekends at Taj properties book a year or more out.

Arrivals, access and logistics

Tumkur Road at Yeshwanthpur sits near the metro terminus, the Yeshwanthpur railway station and the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre, and connects to the airport along the Outer Ring Road without crossing the city. For a wedding where guests arrive by air and by train, that combination is the practical reason to choose this side of Bangalore. With 327 rooms, the entire block can sit in the building. Tumkur Road's evening peak is heavy, so set guest arrivals either side of it.
