How we would design a wedding at Kumarakom Lake Resort
Everything here is horizontal — the lake, the lawns, the low tiled roofs — so vertical decor fights the site. Mandaps should be open-sided and low, stages should face the water, and the palette should defer to the timber, laterite and green of the manas. Lighting is the studio's main instrument after dusk; a lakeside lawn with no built edge needs a lit perimeter for safety as much as for the look.

Season and weather
December to February is the dry, still window on the lake and the dates that go first, often a year ahead. October, November and March work if every lawn function has the Lakeside Canopy held as cover. The south-west monsoon (June to September) is beautiful on the water and risky outdoors; the canopy and the Ettukettu are the hedge, and room rates are at their softest.
Arrivals, access and logistics
Most guests fly into Cochin International Airport; WedMeGood puts the resort about 72 km away by road, and Kottayam is the nearest railway station. On site, movement between villas, lawns and the jetty is on foot or by buggy, so paths need lighting after dusk.
