Designed, not just planned

How we would design a wedding at The Raviz Kadavu

The resort is laterite red and river green, with tiled roofs everywhere. Decor that fights that palette looks cheap here, so we would work in brass, jasmine, raw silk and warm light. On the riverside the backdrop is already done: keep the stage low and open to the water, and spend the budget on lighting the river edge after dark. The convention centre is a plain box, so it takes a full stage wall, a ceiling installation and a proper dance floor. For a Malabar wedding the service lines matter more than the florals. Plan the biryani counters and the flow from the dining area to the stage before any mood board.

Which function goes where

Haldi	The poolside amphitheatre in the morning: open air, 300 seats, with the pool as the backdrop.
Mehendi	The poolside or Chaliyar Hall (30 to 60) for a smaller family mehendi in daylight.
