Grand Hyatt Kochi Bolgatty Wedding Venue, Kerala

Grand Hyatt Kochi Bolgatty opened in April 2018 as Hyatt's third Grand Hyatt in India, with 264 rooms, and is owned by Lulu Group International (Hyatt's opening announcement, 30 April 2018). It sits on Bolgatty Island beside the Lulu Bolgatty International Convention Centre, and is also searched as Grand Hyatt Kochi, Hyatt Bolgatty or Lulu Bolgatty.

No lawn capacity is published, so get the allocation for your layout in writing, and move the late reception indoors before 10 pm.

Outside decorators are permitted and catering is in-house only, according to the hotel's WedMeGood listing (checked 26 September 2026). The sadya comes from the hotel kitchen; get convention-centre load-in hours and power in the same letter.

No: Bolgatty Palace and Island Resort is a separate KTDC heritage hotel on the same island, with a published venue tariff from ₹50,000 to ₹5,50,000 per six-hour booking (KTDC, 2026-27). Grand Hyatt is Lulu Group's Hyatt hotel with the convention centre. Check which property your quote and vendor passes are for.

November to February suits a ceremony on the Palm Lawn, the ballrooms work all year, and the south-west monsoon sets in over Kerala around 1 June and runs to September (IMD), bringing softer rates. Conferences also book the convention halls, so hold the hall before the rooms, especially for muhurtham dates and Christmas week.

For 2,000 guests or more, Grand Hyatt: Liwa and Vembanad are sized for 3,000 and 2,000 (Hyatt). Le Méridien's largest banquet room, MFAR I, takes 700 at rounds or 800 at a reception (Marriott, checked 3 October 2026), and its plates start lower, at ₹2,000 / ₹2,350 against ₹3,500 / ₹4,000 (WedMeGood). Both sit on the backwaters.

At 1,000 guests and above, yes: someone has to design a 19,529 sq ft ballroom so it reads as one wedding, move guests from the lawn to the hall and run vendor passes at the gates.
