About The St. Regis Goa
The St. Regis Goa Resort is the luxury resort on the Cavelossim peninsula that was The Leela Goa: between the Sal river and Mobor beach, with 201–206 rooms depending on the listing, and a set of outdoor rooms that Marriott's chart sizes precisely: the Great Lawns for 400 at dinner rounds, the beach itself for a seasonal ceremony of 350, Coconut Grove for a reception of 150, the Riverside Lawns for a river-side dinner of 88. For a family that wants the St. Regis butler service and the South Goa beach in one property, it is the address.
Indoors, the Glasshouse (about 11,800 sq ft) takes 350 at rounds and 600 standing, and the Astor Ballroom (about 6,640 sq ft) 180 at rounds and 350 standing. Between them the resort has a real rain plan and a sangeet room, though the wedding itself is designed for the lawns and the beach in the dry months.
Panigrahana designs it as a sequence of outdoor rooms — river, grove, lawn, beach — each with its own light, with engineered structures for the sea wind and the 10 pm outdoor cut-off as the cue to move indoors.

River, grove, lawn, beach: each outdoor room has a different light and wind. Keep structures low and engineered, the palette pale against the sea, and light the long walks between venues. The Astor Ballroom is a compact luxury room — one stage wall, lit ceiling.

What should we confirm before designing a St. Regis Goa beach wedding?
Name the precise ceremony location in the proposal. A beachfront resort setting does not by itself confirm permission to build on the beach. Ask the resort to approve the footprint, access, structures, power, setup window and weather alternative before the design becomes a production order.
Confirm the room block by category and night, and keep airport transfers and vendor accommodation separate from the banquet estimate.

Is there still a Leela resort in Goa for a wedding?
No. The Leela's website lists no Goa property (checked 26 September 2026); its old Goa resort at Mobor is now The St. Regis Goa. In our service area The Leela runs The Leela Kovalam and The Leela Ashtamudi in Kerala, and The Leela Palace Bengaluru and The Leela Bhartiya City in Bangalore.
The St. Regis Goa vs Taj Exotica: which is better for a wedding?
Both are South Goa beach resorts. The St. Regis has the Great Lawns for 600 at a reception and the Glasshouse for 600 under cover, with 206 rooms (Marriott; WedMeGood). Taj Exotica's Beach Lawns take 1,700 standing, with 140 rooms and a ₹5,500 plate (Taj; WedMeGood). The St. Regis is stronger under cover; Taj holds more on the lawn.
How far is The St. Regis Goa from the airport?
Cvent lists the nearest airport at 37 km. From Mobor that is Dabolim (GOI); Mopa (GOX) in the far north is a much longer transfer, so route guest flights into Dabolim where you can.
