About Taj Bangalore (Airport)
Taj Bangalore is built for one job: getting guests who have flown in into a bed and to the wedding without a drive. Taj's factsheet puts it a five-minute walk from the domestic and international terminals, with 370 keys. For a family whose guests are coming from the Gulf, the US, the UK and other Indian cities, that removes the transfer plan, the part of a wedding weekend that is hardest to control.
The wedding happens in one big room. The Grand Ballroom is 873 sq m, 36 m by 23 m, pillarless, with an 8 m ceiling; Taj's events page seats 400 at round tables, 950 theatre-style and 1,400 at a reception (checked 27 September 2026). WedMeGood lists it lower, at 220 seated and 360 floating, so get the figure for your set-up in writing. Meeting Room 7, 205 sq m with a long wall of windows, is the daylight room for a mehendi.
What it lacks is a garden. This is a 2014 glass-and-stone hotel on the airport boulevard, with water features and a long pool in place of lawns; WedMeGood lists one outdoor space, the West Wing Lawns, at 150 seated. The design has to come from the build, and the 8 m ceiling is what makes that worth doing. For a guest list that is mostly flying in, the logistics win over character.

Designed, not just planned
How we would design a wedding at Taj Bangalore (Airport)
The 8 m ceiling is the design argument for this venue, and every decision should use it. That is about 26 feet of clear height in a pillarless 36 × 23 m room: enough for a suspended installation, a full ceiling drape, tall processional pieces down the aisle and lighting positions high enough to stay out of the photographs. A design that stays at table height wastes the one thing the room has. Get the rigging points and ceiling-load limits in writing at contract stage, because an 8 m ceiling is only useful if the hotel lets you hang from it. Taj describes the ballroom's golden decor, and its photographs show bronze wall panels and a patterned deep-red carpet, a strong palette: either draw the scheme out of it in ivory, bronze, deep red and gold, or cover the floor and walls; a pale scheme will fight the room. The ballroom has no daylight, which helps: a 10 am muhurtham and a 9 pm reception can look completely different in the same room, and the daylight function belongs in Meeting Room 7. One more thing is free: Taj's own photographs show guest rooms looking straight at the airport terminal, a getting-ready backdrop few venues can offer.

Season and weather
Weather barely matters here. The programme is indoors, so a July wedding runs like a January one, and the monsoon months are the ones where a lawn venue needs a marquee and this hotel does not. October to February carries most auspicious dates. The hotel's rooms also serve airport traffic, so a room block over a peak travel week is likely to be a harder negotiation.

This is the venue's whole case. Taj's factsheet puts it a five-minute walk from the domestic and international terminals, with 370 keys, and Taj Club rooms include two-way airport transfers. A guest landing at 3 am walks to a bed; there is no transfer plan to build. The cost runs the other way for local guests: hotels on MG Road put the airport about 38 km and 1 hour 15 minutes away (The Oberoi's own figure), so for a Bengaluru-heavy list, run return coaches from two or three city pick-up points.
