Wiwaha takes its name from the Sanskrit for marriage, and it is one of the few properties around Bengaluru built for weddings from the ground up rather than converted into one. It sits on Springdales Farm at Bettahalasur, on the Yelahanka side of the airport road, and the whole thing is organised around a multi-level open lawn with a permanent stage at its head. Granite walkways run between the spaces, stone sculpture and carved timber doors mark the thresholds, and a Balinese-inspired pool sits on an upper deck looking back over the lawn. Sixteen to seventeen kilometres from the airport, it gives an outstation guest list the feeling of a resort arrival without the drive that usually comes with one.
The layout is what makes it work operationally. The lawn is ringed by three semi-covered spaces, so a function can spill sideways instead of being torn down and rebuilt; the Main Hall is open-sided under a high-pitched roof, which means it takes a monsoon date without becoming a box; an 8,000 sq ft dining hall feeding 300 sits apart from both, so dinner service never crosses the ceremony floor; and an amphitheatre on stepped levels handles haldi and sangeet performances without risers. Sixty-five air-conditioned rooms plus bridal suites mean both families sleep where the functions are — the single thing that decides whether a two-day programme feels like a wedding or a commute.
It is also, unusually, an open venue. Outside caterers, outside decorators, outside DJs and outside alcohol are all permitted, and the property runs two kitchens with one dedicated to vegetarian cooking. That combination of a rental model, open vendors, a resort-grade room block and a dedicated vegetarian kitchen is why North Bengaluru and families living abroad keep shortlisting it. The one thing to pin down early is capacity: the venue publishes different figures for the same spaces across its own pages, and the marketplace listing is higher again. Get the seated number for your exact layout, in writing, before the guest list is fixed.

Every function needs its own room
Function spaces at Wiwaha — The Wedding Venue
| Space | Type | Seated | Sq ft | Air-conditioned | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Open Lawn | lawn | — | — | No | The heart of the property: a multi-level lawn with a built-in grand central stage and three semi-covered spaces wrapped around it. Photographs show a broad rectangle of turf with a raised dark stone platform at one end and colonnaded pavilions wrapping two sides. The venue publishes two different figures for it — 650-800 guests on the home page and 'seating for up to 500' on its dedicated venue page — so confirm the seated number for your layout. Granite walkways run through it, which means no ground matting is needed for guest circulation. |
| Main Hall (semi-covered) | hall | 600 | — | No | Large open-sided hall under a high pitched roof carried on splayed pale steel columns and exposed steel trusses, with a solid gable wall at one end and both long sides open to the property — integrated directly with the lawn. The venue's venue page states seating for up to 600; its home page describes the semi-covered indoor space as 400-500. Highly adaptable for decor and lighting because the roof structure is exposed and real. WedMeGood records the indoor banquet plus outdoor lawn together at 1,000 seated / 1,500 floating. |
| Dining Hall | hall | 300 | 8,000 | — | 8,000 sq ft covered dining hall catering 300 guests, with a dedicated buffet area — the venue's own figure. Two kitchens serve it, one of them dedicated to vegetarian cooking (WedMeGood). |
| Pool Deck | poolside | — | — | No | Balinese-inspired swimming pool with a covered upper deck looking out over the property, plus the open pool deck itself. The venue positions it for cocktails, after-parties and relaxed evening functions. |
| Amphitheatre | amphitheatre | 200 | — | No | Open-air stepped arena on varying angles and levels; the venue's venue page states seating for 200 (its home page says 150-200). Positioned for haldi, sangeet and cultural performances — the level changes mean the back row still sees the stage without risers. |
A dash means the figure is not published. Ask for a measured plan of each space with the mandap, stage, dining and service access marked before you fix a guest count.
What it actually costs
Wiwaha — The Wedding Venue wedding cost evidence
No verified price is published for Wiwaha — The Wedding Venue in this record, and we will not print an invented one. Start with a written venue quote, then add food, rooms, decor and production as separate lines — we can help you compare the inclusions once you have a date and a guest count.
Wiwaha works on a rental. Its WedMeGood listing records the pricing model as 'Rental Only', taxes extra, with no published figure — the venue quotes per date. Because both in-house and outside catering are permitted, the plate rate is a separate negotiation from the property hire.
No published plate rate. The venue runs two kitchens (one dedicated vegetarian) and permits both in-house and outside catering per its WedMeGood listing, so the per-plate number depends on which route you take.

| Outside decorators | Outside decorators permitted (WedMeGood listing). The venue also offers its own decor and design service and a panel of planners who know the spaces, so establish in writing whether an outside decorator carries an access fee and what the load-in window is. |
|---|---|
| Catering | In-house and outside catering both permitted (WedMeGood listing). Two kitchens, one dedicated to vegetarian cooking — which is the practical answer for families who want a no-shared-kitchen vegetarian or sattvic menu. |
| Alcohol | Outside alcohol permitted (WedMeGood listing). Karnataka excise still requires a temporary permit for service at a private event; confirm who arranges it. |
| Music and DJ | In-house and outside DJ both permitted (WedMeGood listing). The lawn, amphitheatre and pool deck are open-air, so the 10 pm outdoor amplified-sound cut-off shapes the evening; the semi-covered Main Hall is the room to move a late programme into, subject to the venue's own rules. |
| Overnight stay | Yes — 65 air-conditioned rooms on site including separate bridal suites, described by the venue as 3-star category rooms managed by a hotel group. |
| Parking | On-site parking; the venue does not publish a car count and WedMeGood records only 'sufficient parking space'. Ask for the number the venue will hold for your date in writing. |

Designed, not just planned
Wedding planning & decor at Wiwaha — The Wedding Venue: how we would design it
The property has strong architecture of its own and the first design decision is how much of it to cover. The Main Hall's high-pitched Balinese roof and exposed structure is the best rigging asset on the property: real trusses, real height, and an open-sided room, so a suspended floral ceiling or a lighting rig can be hung properly rather than propped. Confirm the load rating and the fixing points before anything is fabricated. On the lawn, the built-in grand central stage fixes the ceremony axis, which is useful (no stage build, no levelling) and constraining (you are dressing a structure whose dimensions and height you did not choose). Measure it on the site visit and design the mandap to sit on it, not around it. Level changes are the other planning fact: the venue describes the lawn as multi-level and the photographs show the stage sitting on a raised stone platform with steps down to the turf. Level changes are excellent for sightlines and a hazard for elders after dark and for a caterer moving trays. Light every riser, and walk the service route before you finalise where the buffet stands. Granite walkways throughout mean no ground matting for guest circulation, which is a saving worth knowing about. For colour, the venue is already grey stone, dark carved timber, water and deep green. A warm palette of marigold, terracotta, brass and raw silk lifts it; a cool white-and-silver scheme disappears into it. Rain: the Main Hall and the dining hall are the built fallbacks, so the honest question is how many of your guests fit under a roof at once and whether that number covers your dinner service. And because the lawn, amphitheatre and pool deck are all open-air, the 10 pm outdoor sound cut-off decides the run of show — build the evening so the party lands in the Main Hall before it.
Which function goes where
| Haldi | The amphitheatre, at 200 — the stepped levels mean the family stands at different heights around the couple, which photographs far better than a flat lawn, and the mess washes off stone. |
|---|---|
| Mehendi | The covered upper pool deck, where the shade is built in and the view down over the lawn gives the shoot something to look at. Falls back to a semi-covered bay off the lawn if the list grows. |
| Sangeet | The Main Hall under the pitched Balinese roof — open-sided so it still feels like an outdoor evening, but roofed, which is what lets the programme run past the point where an open lawn would have to stop. |
| Wedding ceremony | The open lawn, mandap on the built-in central stage or forward of it on the first level, with guest seating stepping back up the levels. The permanent stage is a real saving: you are dressing a structure rather than building one. |
| Reception | Open lawn again after a re-dress, with dinner running out of the 8,000 sq ft dining hall so the reception floor never carries a buffet. For a smaller reception, the Main Hall takes the whole event end to end. |
Season and weather
October to March is the window, and North Bengaluru runs a couple of degrees cooler at night than the city, so evening lawn functions hold comfortably. April and May are fine after five. June to September is genuinely workable here in a way it is not at a pure lawn venue, because the semi-covered Main Hall and the 8,000 sq ft dining hall are built cover rather than tents — which usually also means better rates. Peak muhurtham weekends in November, December and January go 9-12 months out.
Arrivals, access and logistics
The airport is the venue's structural advantage: 16-17 km, 25-26 minutes by the venue's own figures, so flying-in guests land and arrive the same afternoon without a city crossing. Hebbal is 17 km / 24 minutes, and the city centre about 25 km / 30 minutes off-peak — plan on considerably more between 5 and 8 pm. Sixty-five rooms cover both immediate families and a good part of an outstation list; overflow goes to the Yelahanka and Devanahalli hotels along the airport corridor, which are close enough to shuttle. The venue runs 9 am to 7 pm as its office hours; agree vendor load-in and dismantling windows separately, along with generator placement and power availability, since a large build on an open lawn rarely runs on house supply alone.
An honest read
Is Wiwaha — The Wedding Venue the right venue for your wedding?
| Right for you if | North Bengaluru and Yelahanka families; outstation and overseas guest lists, because the airport is 25 minutes away and 65 rooms sit on site; two- and three-day programmes that want every function on one property; families who want their own caterer, their own decorator and a dedicated vegetarian kitchen; couples who want a Bali look without a passport. |
|---|---|
| Look elsewhere if | Families who need a fully air-conditioned, fully enclosed ballroom — the Main Hall is semi-covered and open-sided by design. Guest lists above roughly 1,000 seated, where the published figures start disagreeing with each other. Anyone whose guest list is overwhelmingly South Bengaluru: Bettahalasur is an hour-plus drive from Jayanagar in evening traffic, and that shows up in RSVPs. |
| Planner tip | Ask for the seated capacity of the Open Lawn and the Main Hall for YOUR layout, in writing, before you fix the guest list. The venue's own home page and its venue page publish different numbers for the same two spaces (650-800 vs up to 500 for the lawn; 400-500 vs up to 600 for the hall), and its WedMeGood listing quotes 1,000 seated / 1,500 floating across both combined. Those are three different weddings. Then get the parking count — no source publishes one. |
The shortlist
Venues couples weigh against Wiwaha — The Wedding Venue
Asked and answered
Wiwaha — The Wedding Venue wedding questions
How many guests can Wiwaha hold?
Wiwaha's venue page says it suits 100 to 1,000 guests; its WedMeGood listing records 300-1,500 pax and describes the indoor banquet plus outdoor lawn together at 1,000 seated and 1,500 floating. Individual spaces are published inconsistently across the venue's own pages — the Open Lawn appears as both 650-800 and 'up to 500', the Main Hall as both 400-500 and 'up to 600'. Ask the venue to confirm the seated figure for your exact layout in writing.
How many rooms does Wiwaha have?
Sixty-five air-conditioned rooms, plus separate bridal suites. The venue describes them as 3-star category rooms managed by a hotel group, and its WedMeGood listing records the same 65. (Our earlier record said 32; the venue's own site is the authority and says 65.) That is enough for both immediate families and a sizeable outstation contingent, which is the main reason North Bengaluru families shortlist it for a two-day programme.
Does Wiwaha charge a rental or a per-plate minimum?
A rental. Its WedMeGood listing records the pricing model as 'Rental Only' with taxes extra and no published figure, so the venue quotes per date. Because both in-house and outside catering are permitted, the plate rate is a separate negotiation — which is the useful thing about this model: the property hire and the food bill move independently and you can control each one.
Can we bring our own caterer and decorator to Wiwaha?
Yes to both. The WedMeGood listing records in-house and outside catering permitted, outside decorators permitted, in-house and outside DJ permitted, and outside alcohol permitted. That makes Wiwaha one of the more genuinely open venues in North Bengaluru. Get any outside-vendor access fee, the load-in window and the dismantling deadline in writing before you commission a design.
Is there a vegetarian kitchen at Wiwaha?
Yes — the venue runs two kitchens, one of them dedicated to vegetarian cooking, per its WedMeGood listing. For families who want a strictly vegetarian, Jain or sattvic menu with no shared-kitchen concern, that is a materially better answer than a single hotel kitchen, and it is one of the specific reasons to prefer an open-catering venue over a five-star.
What is the rain plan at Wiwaha?
Built cover, not tents. The Main Hall is a semi-covered, open-sided space under a high-pitched Balinese roof, and the 8,000 sq ft dining hall is fully covered and caters 300. So a monsoon date is a real booking here rather than a gamble. The honest question to ask is how many of your guests fit under a roof at one time and whether that covers your dinner service — then agree how late the weather call can be made.
How far is Wiwaha from Bangalore airport?
The venue publishes 16 km / 25 minutes on its home page and 17.2 km / 26 minutes on its venue page to Kempegowda International Airport, plus 17 km / 24 minutes to Hebbal and around 25 km / 30 minutes to the city centre. In practice that means an overseas guest can land in the morning and be at a function the same afternoon without crossing the city — the single strongest argument for this property over a South Bengaluru venue.
Which space suits which function at Wiwaha?
The amphitheatre for haldi at 200, because the stepped levels put the family at different heights around the couple. The covered upper pool deck for mehendi. The semi-covered Main Hall for sangeet, since it is roofed and can run later than an open lawn. The open lawn with its built-in central stage for the muhurtham, guest seating stepping back up the levels. Reception on the lawn again, with dinner served from the dining hall.
Is there a built-in stage at Wiwaha?
Yes — the open lawn carries a permanent grand central stage, and the venue lists it among its infrastructure alongside granite walkways and stone decor. That is a genuine saving on any decor budget: you are dressing an existing structure rather than fabricating and levelling one. The trade is that its dimensions and height are fixed, so measure it on the site visit and design the mandap to sit on it.
What time does the music have to stop at Wiwaha?
The open lawn, amphitheatre and pool deck are all open-air, so the 10 pm cut-off on outdoor amplified sound that applies across Bengaluru governs those spaces. The semi-covered Main Hall is where a late programme lands, subject to the venue's own house rules and licence — confirm the indoor cut-off for your date in writing, and build the run of show so the dance floor has moved under the roof before ten.
Does Wiwaha provide a wedding planner?
The venue advertises a complimentary wedding planner and full-service event management — coordination, catering liaison, decor, photography, emcee and DJ, makeup, entertainment, logistics and budgeting — plus a network of planners who know the spaces. Understand what that covers before you assume it replaces a design studio: venue coordination and design authorship are different jobs, and the venue's team is coordinating the property, not drawing your wedding.
Is Wiwaha good for a South Indian wedding with an early muhurtham?
Yes, and the room block is the reason. With 65 rooms and bridal suites on site, a 5 am kashi yatra or a pre-dawn muhurtham is practical because the family is already there — nobody drives in at four. The lawn is open, so open-flame homam has no ventilation constraint, and the dining hall handles a large seated breakfast and lunch service without the ceremony floor being touched.
How far in advance should we book Wiwaha?
Nine to twelve months for a peak muhurtham weekend between November and February; auspicious dates go sooner because several families chase the same weekend. Off-peak, weekday and monsoon dates can often be held with 3 to 6 months' notice, and the monsoon window is genuinely usable here because the covered spaces are built rather than rented. A verbal hold is not a booking — the date is yours on a signed contract and deposit.
Who should not book Wiwaha?
Families who want a fully enclosed, air-conditioned ballroom — the Main Hall is semi-covered and open-sided by design, and that is the point of the property. Guest lists meaningfully above 1,000 seated, where the published capacities stop agreeing with each other. And families whose guest list is concentrated in South Bengaluru, because Bettahalasur is an hour-plus from Jayanagar in evening traffic and that shows up in the RSVPs.
What does Panigrahana do at Wiwaha?
Design, production and the venue negotiation on your side of the table. Because Wiwaha permits outside decorators, the mandap and sets are drawn by our architects for the actual dimensions of the lawn stage and the Main Hall roof, and fabricated in-house by a 30-person team rather than pulled from a rental catalogue. Planning runs on a flat fee for the agreed scope, with no vendor commissions — you contract the venue and caterer directly.
Is there parking at Wiwaha?
There is on-site parking, but no source publishes a car count — the WedMeGood listing records only 'sufficient parking space', and the venue's own site does not give a number. Ask for the count the venue will hold for your date in writing, along with whether parking marshals and valet are inside the day rate. For a large list, plan a shuttle from a Yelahanka pick-up point.
