What do Bangalore wedding venues cost per plate and per day, venue by venue?

City five-star hotels publish entry plates of ₹3,000–₹5,000, taxes extra; resort and plantation venues sit at ₹400–₹1,300 a plate; garden estates charge ₹2–₹16 lakh a day and leave catering to you. The two tables below separate the two models, because a plate rate and a day rental cannot be read side by side without the arithmetic in the next section.

Where a hotel shows two figures, the first is the listing's entry plate and the second is the band we plan wedding menus at there. The entry plate is a starting menu, not a wedding quote; live counters, a fuller bar and chef-led menus sit above it.

Venues that charge per plate

All plates before taxes. Listing rates were read from each venue's WedMeGood page on 11 September 2026. Where a hotel publishes a single figure it is the vegetarian entry plate. "Up to" is the largest single-space or property capacity on the venue record; a lawn and a ballroom at the same hotel carry different numbers.

Estates that charge a day rental

Rentals before taxes. A day rental buys the property (or the named lawn), the rooms listed, kitchen access for your caterer and parking; food, decor, bar, sound and licences are separate. Angsana Oasis (Doddaballapur Road) quotes per date with no rate card, so it is not tabled.

Should we compare venues by per-plate price or by rental?

Neither on its own. Convert both to a venue-and-food cost per guest at your real guest count: the rental divided by your guests, plus your caterer's plate, set against the hotel's plate. Rentals win at smaller counts; per-plate hotels win once your guest count comfortably clears their minimum guarantee.

The arithmetic, per function and before GST, using the booked and listed figures above:

• Samaya at 300 guests: ₹7.5 lakh ÷ 300 = ₹2,500 a head for the venue, plus ₹400 for the vegetarian plate, so ₹2,900 a head. At 1,000 guests the same rental falls to ₹750 a head and the total to ₹1,150.
• Amita Rasa at 200 guests: ₹16 lakh ÷ 200 = ₹8,000 a head before your caterer's plate. At 800 guests, the estate's upper limit, it is ₹2,000 a head.
• The Leela Palace at any count: the venue line is the plate, ₹4,500 vegetarian on the listing. Bring fewer guests than the space's minimum guarantee and a shortfall is added on top.

So at 200 guests a day-rental estate with a good outside caterer at ₹1,000–₹1,500 a plate lands well under a city five-star; at 800 guests the rental has been diluted to a few thousand rupees a head and the hotel's single accountable kitchen starts to look like the better deal. Of the 279 venues in our database that publish a rate, 226 are on a minimum guarantee, 40 on a day rental and 13 quote both, so most shortlists end up comparing across the two models. What does the BOOKED rental table show, and how current is it?

BOOKED means the day rate at which we have actually contracted a wedding at that property, first-hand, not a listing estimate. Each figure was re-checked against the venue's own WedMeGood listing on 11 September 2026; where the two differ we print both. It is a planning number, and the venue confirms your date in writing.

• Amita Rasa, ₹16 lakh per day. Exclusive use of the 28-acre estate, all five settings and all seven bedrooms, one wedding on the property at a time. The listing independently shows ₹16,00,000 per function, so the two agree. Catering is outside-only with 18% GST on the caterer's bill; the estate provides a full commercial kitchen.
• Moongate, ₹12 lakh per day. The listing publishes ₹14,00,000 per function; ₹12 lakh is what we have booked at. Food is cooked in the venue's 2,000 sq ft kitchen at ₹650 vegetarian and ₹850 non-vegetarian a plate on our weddings there.
• Samavana, ₹9 lakh per day. A 6-acre garden venue opposite JB Kaval Tree Park in Yelahanka, with 30 rooms and room for 1,500 guests.
• Samaya, ₹7.5 lakh per day. Terms seen on our own bookings: 50% advance, 50% on the event day. Ask whether the set-up evening before is charged as a full day. In-house kitchen at ₹400 and ₹600 a plate.
• Royalton Leisure, ₹4.5 lakh or ₹7 lakh per day. The two lawns, Arya and Jeeva, are priced separately; taking both lawns for exclusivity is ₹11.5 lakh. Lighting, sound and the generator are one vendor tied to the venue, so budget that line deliberately.
• Utsavaa, ₹2–₹15 lakh per day. The spread is about footprint: a single space for one function sits at the bottom, the whole 14 acres for a multi-day wedding at the top. The listing's ₹3,00,000 per function is the bottom of that range. Decide your function list before you ask for a number.

What is a minimum guarantee, and how does it change a per-plate quote?

A minimum guarantee is the plate count a hotel space must earn on your date. Meet it and the room costs nothing beyond the food; fall short and you pay a shortfall on the missing plates, normally negotiated below the full plate rate. It is why the same hotel quotes very differently depending on which room you are shown.

Two examples from our own records. At Taj West End the Prince of Wales Lawns carries a guarantee of about 200 plates and the other spaces about 100; at that count the lawn itself costs nothing beyond catering. At The Leela Palace, if the floor for your date is 400 plates and you bring 320 guests, you pay a shortfall on the remaining 80, and that shortfall is normally settled below the ₹4,500 headline plate rather than charged in full.

Three things to get in writing before an advance: the guarantee per space, per function; the rate you pay on the difference if you come in under it; and the menu tier the guarantee is priced at, since the entry plate on a listing and the wedding menu you will actually eat are rarely the same number. What does a 200- or 300-guest wedding in Bangalore total?

The large room blocks are all at the hotels — Taj Bangalore 370 rooms, The Leela Palace 357, ITC Gardenia 291, Conrad 285 — while the estates run from Royalton’s 55 down to Amita Rasa’s seven. Nearest the airport: Taj Bangalore, a five-minute walk from the terminals, then Clarks Exotica at about ten minutes.

What is excluded from a Bangalore venue quote?

Taxes, alcohol, decor and licences. Listed plates and rentals are before 18% GST; hotels add a service charge; the bar is licensed and billed separately; outside decorators often pay an access fee; and outdoor amplified sound stops at 10 pm across Bengaluru, which shapes what a lawn can host after dark.

• GST and service charge. 18% GST on hotel and catering invoices, and a service charge of 10–18% at most hotels. At an estate the 18% GST lands on your caterer's bill instead.
• Alcohol. At the five-stars the bar is the hotel's, licensed and billed separately from the plate, per bottle or as a package. At estates with no bar of their own, outside alcohol still needs the venue's written consent and the Karnataka excise permit for the date.
• Decor. Outside decorators are permitted at most of these venues, but the access or royalty fee, load-in and load-out windows, rigging limits and ground-protection rules are fixed per event and belong in writing. The in-house decor floors on listings (Clarks Exotica ₹50,000, Utsavaa ₹49,996, Conrad ₹75,000, Jayamahal Palace ₹1,50,000, Moongate ₹4,00,000) are starting prices for the venue's own service, not wedding figures. • Rooms. On-site rooms are quoted separately from the plate; listings show ₹21,500 a room at Conrad and ₹4,500 at Jayamahal Palace, and a day rental at Amita Rasa or Samaya includes only the rooms in the table.
• Tied vendors. Some venues require their own sound, lighting or generator supplier (Royalton, for one). The work is often good; it has not been competitively bid, so ask which categories are tied before comparing two headline numbers.
